Great animal enclosures. We adopted an animal. Did not ride the rides

Good place for younger kids. Get rid of all the silly little coin operated rides though, and include the ticketed "extras", that you have to pay for separately, in entrance price as well, it's steep enough. Other than that, a nice day out

I haven’t been to Drusillas since I was a kid over 25 years ago, but I was so impressed!! Things I remembered are still there like milking the cow, but everything is so well maintained. There seems like a lot of money ha been invested, the enclosures are a good size, the activities for the kids are excellent, and the play areas are great. Food was a reasonable price as was the gift shop. A wonderful zoo for young kids. Will definitely be coming back!!

Animals are well looked after. Loved the farm animal bit. Could do with a better variety as there are a lot of the same monkeys. Rides are good for little kids. No queues which was a bonus!

Lovely little zoo. Lots to see and do, especially for kids, though there's also lots for adults to see too(as long as they like animals).

So many places claim to be "family friendly" when the reality is they just provide money off for a family ticket. Drusillas really does cater for the family, especially thinking about the younger ones.
While the selection of animals may not be as big or varied as other zoos, what it does have are the type of animals that are very active and fun for kids to watch.
Their enclosures are not so massive that you have to stand for hours in the hope of seeing something moving in the distance behind a large bush, but not so small that they are crashing into either end.
They all have good viewing areas that even a 1 year old was able to stand on their own and watch.
There is a chance to walk through with the lemurs and with the Lorikeet parrots and feed them, as well as the farm animal section.
The play area is amazing! Split into two areas (under 6 and over 6) there is plenty to wear out the children, and for the summer there is a wet play area. A selection of rides such as the train, carousal , tea cups and flying leopards are all free.
Plenty of places for adults to get a coffee and sit watch the kids go wild.
There is a cafe on site and all meals were just under £8. Coffee was around £2.60.

I was actually there also for one of the special animal encounters that they offer. If you have a young ones who is mad about animals then look into the keeper for a day. I got to see behind the scenes and walk around the back of the enclosures and you have no idea how much is going on behind the scenes and how busy the keepers are all day.

Three adults and two children at nine and seven had great day out. The oldest one at nearly 10 really didn’t want to go I was quite grumpy about it, however on the day he thoroughly enjoyed himself. It’s a bit like IKEA as you get into the loop and it’s difficult to know how to get out but that’s good as you don’t miss anything. We ate in a restaurant there which was not particularly expensive and there was an awful lot of choice of good healthy food and drinks. I did notice that there was a large area for people being there and picnics so it’s not necessary To buy things there.
There were enough animals and things to have a go on to amuse most children of 10 and under and when the children are amused so are the adults.
After lunch we spent some considerable time in the play area which was great, even The adults had a go on a couple of things.
