We visited in August with our two girls aged 11 and 8. Given the price tag of over £100 for the four of us (pre-booked too!), we had high expectations (compare to major theme parks) and for the most part we were not at all disappointed. However Paulton's Park was comparably priced (maybe £30 more for tickets) and a much better experience.<br><br>Arriving around 11, the car park was already very full and there was very little direction as to where to park. There were toilets at the entrance - useful for small ones! Unfortunately after going through ticket checks everyone is funneled into a close indoors area which is really uncomfortable and seems like a poor design. The best thing you can offer people on entry to a zoo or park is space to pause, take stock and decide on a direction.<br><br>We continued on the zoo path but found it very busy so decided to veer off through the "short cut" to the rides and diner/cafe. After a couple of rides we encouraged the kids to have an early lunch at around 11.45am in the Explorer's Cafe. We were surprised at how little signage there was in the cafe - we found ourselves a table, I took a photo of the food offering that was on a poster near the food area as there was no menu on the table, and even that wasn't particularly clear since it seemed you could go up and choose what you wanted and would be charged accordingly. Of course it was all very expensive, too, but we weren't surprised by that and it was cheaper than other theme parks and some zoos. The food itself was pretty good.<br><br>We then used normal lunch time to visit the zoo and this worked out really well. We had much more space to move around and see the animals. The zoo is really lovely. It's not a "big animal" zoo but the animals that are there are clearly happy, with plenty of space to explore and play, and they seem completely relaxed around their human visitors. The meerkats, monkeys and fennec foxes were particular favourites! Lemurs were cool though we happened to visit when an encounter was going on so that had a negative effect on our experience.<br><br>We moved next to the adventure playground and splash park area. The adventure playground is really impressive and the children spent quite a bit of time playing there. More seating for parents would be helpful! We then got them changed for the splash park. We were surprised that there weren't any designated changing areas for kids. The splash park was great, really well equipped, and we were able to find seating at the side (and coffee nearby!).<br><br>After getting the girls changed back we hit up some of the shops. Unsurprisingly expensive, they both managed to find a soft toy within their pocket money budgets. We also visited the rides. Our girls aren't thrill-seekers and so they really enjoyed the offerings at Druilla's! We also went on the train ride around the zoo. This was incredibly disappointing. For toddlers the act of going on the train might be fun, but for older children it's naff, frankly, and we thought it was naff too. Needs improvement.<br><br>Youngest, however, had been eyeing up the "big slide" since she saw it, early on in our visit. This is one of the few "premium" rides and as others have said, at the price tag it is frankly ridiculous that there are activities in the park which are not included in the price tag. Nonetheless we paid for one child to go on the slide and the other to pan for gold. Child one had a great time on the slide, child two enjoyed panning but there was very little "gold" to be found (despite all the kids clubbing together to share their findings - which was lovely in itself) and it was meant to be swapped for a tacky medal at the end. Honestly I was tempted to tell her to hang onto her iron pyrite!<br><br>Overall we had a lovely day with all the things that our girls enjoy, and I don't want my grumbles to detract from that. There are, though, some areas for improvement and I hope that the Drusillas team take those comments as constructive. We would love to come back, and I can see that if you live nearby, an annual pass would be fantastic value.

Great theme park! Excellent rides for the young kids, arcades and small "coin" rides are all free which I think is a brilliant touch. Kids loved it even if it did rain the entire day we went!

Lots for kids of all ages to do, as well as the animal zoo.<br>My only criticism is there should be more healthy options for food choices, other than burger, sausage, chicken and chips. Healthy wraps and salads would be better.

As always, it was a brilliant time. It's been a couple of years since we were last here, and you can see the investment made over that time.<br>The animals all seemed well cared for, and all the keepers we spoke to were kind, friendly, and spoken passionately about the animals in their care.<br>The volunteers were engaging and knowledgeable.<br>Play areas, soft play (wonderfully cool on a hot day), rides, and especially the spash pad were a big hit with the kids (3, 6, 8)

Visited Drusillas and was thoroughly impressed!<br><br>The diversity of animals on display is captivating, and the close-up views make for an intimate experience. What stands out is the energy and liveliness of the animals, making it a truly engaging visit. The facilities are top-notch, well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. An added bonus is the array of activities for children – from funfair rides to parks and soft play areas. Highly recommended for a delightful day out!

Lovely place

Visited on ticket only event day, it was a great day out, kids enjoyed using the various activities that teach about the animals. No queue for any rides or splash park, a really good outdoor play area, and when it rained lots of places to shelter and an indoor play area. Great price for a great day enjoyed by everyone in our group young and old.

Great place for kids what with the zoo, the play areas, the splash pad and the rides. Parking is easy. The food we had was quick and was good slightly overpriced but they always are at these sort of places. Lots of outdoor seating so can always bring a picnic to save some money

It is a smaller park I'm disabled I just managed to walk around it I should have bought my small electric scooter one woman's scooter rane out off battery powere so I don't know if it's a good idea if you're disabled with a small electric scooter a willchaer would probably be better or a big electric scooter but it is really good if you have children so u will enjoy it but if it is raining it might not be as good but they have a indoor area .

Great day out, fun for all the family. Better for younger children, not teen-agers.
