We came here for a family get together for lunch on a sunday.
There is a vast nenu with something for everyone. There is a 2 or 3 course lunch special.
Which has plenty of selections. The food came out piping hot & freshly made.
Plenty of soft or alcoholic drinks, coffee..Desers were generous and tasty.

Welcoming and friendly service from this family run restaurant. Be wary of ordering the calzone if you are on a diet as it looks way too big to eat but you will eat it all as it tastes so good and your belly will look like a calzone! Food and wine delicious and relaxed and happy atmosphere. Only problem is you have to book in advance as it's always booked out since it moved to the town centre! :)

This is a lovely restaurant run by a lovely family who are welcoming and sincere. The Arancine is special, but too big for a starter. The Veal was beautiful but spoiled by being served with tinned sliced potatoes and tinned tiny carrots both perfectly edible but fresh steamed vegetable would have been a better accompaniment to a wonderful piece of meat.

This restaurant has now become firmly established as one of the best in Eastbourne. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food is great and the house wine very good. If you haven't been you should try this out. It's usually busy so best to book in advance.

Anema e Core means 'Heart and Soul', and you couldn't get a more apt name for this family-run restaurant.
There have been a number of restaurants on this site over the years, and when I was in Eastbourne in August I almost ignored it (as I would normally do; there's lots of good places I normally frequent when I'm here), but when I read the menu I tried to book but it was full. I couldn't get it out of my mind though, so drove 150 miles from Swindon this week, just to come and eat here. Even though this is already the town's Number One restaurant (on this site), from the reviews I'd read I'd hoped/expected it to be rather special, but I'm happy to say that it far exceeded my expectations.
A bottle of tap water was placed on my table as I sat down, and even though I was on my own I immediately felt just as valued as if I'd been in a group/spending more.Choosing what to eat was so difficult, as I wanted to try everything, but my squid was as soft as butter and melted in my mouth. Bread is home-made, and delicious.
After the starter and bread (dipped in oil/balsamic) I'd already eaten FAR more than was decent, but my Calzone Reginella (pizza, with a folded section stuffed with gorgonzola and black pepper) was SO good that I just couldn't stop myself eating the whole thing!I rarely have coffee after a meal (as it's usually way too strong and bitter in restaurants), but was having such a good time that I was reluctant to leave. The coffee and Amaretto were spot-on though, and the 'dinner jazz' perfectly complemented the relaxed atmosphere, especially as it was played at exactly the right volume (quite a rarity these days).
All the food I saw being served to other diners looked beautiful and, although the restaurant was very busy, the service I received was both attentive and perfectly timed throughout. It was all so good that I didn't expect it to be as good the second night, but it was.
I rarely eat out any more as I'm so fed up with being constantly disappointed and (often) feeling completely ripped-off, but Anema e Core has 'got it all', and got it all exactly right. The wine's reasonably priced, and when I was presented with the card machine there was no 'Do you want to add a Service Charge Y/N?' on the screen. How rare - and lovely - it was not to feel pressured into handing over even more money, which can so often feel like adding insult to injury when it's not deserved.
It WAS deserved here though. I struggle to recall the last time I ate anywhere in the UK where I came out feeling that a restaurant had ticked EVERY box, but I felt it here: both nights! I cannot recommend this place highly enough, and can't wait to return. It was worth every inch of my 300-mile round trip.

We had heard good things about Anema e Core so went for an evening meal. The restuarant was very quiet when we arrived, just my wife and I and another family. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. We order the calamari and garlic bread (which we were able to see them back at their pizza oven) both of which were delicious. For mains we had the sirloin steak with truffle cream sauce and the Penne pasta and salmon. They were kind enough to help my wife choose a meal without gluten when she asked. The steak was hands down one of the best steaks I've ever eaten, it just melted in the mouth. I cleaned the plate, chips, steak, salad and all. Perfectly sized portions, I felt sated but not overly full. My wife was very pleased with the pasta and salmon. For dessert we had Tiramisu and chocolate ice cream, both of which were delicious and again, perfect portion sizes. After our meal we sat in a happy glow of food contentment for a while. I cannot recommend this restuarant highly enough, It is very good.

Never been to Eastbourne before and opted for an Italian lunch. Picked this one at random and what a good choice it turned out to be! I had a 4 cheese pizza which was generously topped with good quality ingredients, delicious and surprisingly non oily. Hubby had spaghetti bolognaise and pronounced it one of the best he'd ever had, and my mother had a chicken and mushroom dish which she polished off completely which she never does. I tend to think Italian food is safe and easy to get right but this restaurant goes beyond that for flavour and food quality. Service was great, highly recommended.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were very attentive. Lovely menu and the food really was delicious.
I cannot believe we have this little gem of a restaurant on our doorstep... can't wait to go back to try some different dishes.
Highly recommended.

Dropped in for lunch with my wife while we were out on Sunday. The outside looked interesting, and we ventured in to what was a much bigger space than we could tell from the outside appearance. There is a large oven towards the middle of the restaurant for baking breads and pizzas, but it must keep the place warm on chillier days too.
We opted for the meal deals for lunch and found the prawn cocktail suited us both, followed by a pasta and pizza for our main. I was more than happy with my meal, found the service to be warm and friendly, and was pleased that the price was reasonable.
We will definitely come back at some point.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch with friends at the Anema e Core in Eastbourne just last week. Filthy day but the restaurant brought a ray of Italian sunshine. Great food, wonderful, friendly staff and a great mid-day dining experience. Will certainly be going back. What more needs to be said? Try a meal there, based on my experience, you will not be disappointed.

Authentic Neapolitan restaurant. Great friendly service. Good value lunch menu though there is £3 supplement for some dishes. Huge gas fired pizza oven. Loved the complimentary meloncello.

Read all the reviews and feel they are justified as this is an enjoyable venue for a relaxing evening with good food ,friendly and efficient service and a pleasant atmosphere.
Some courses worked better than others and felt that a few of the dishes would have benefited from additional seasoning.

We visited here on the last night of a long weekend stay in Eastbourne. We had wanted to book for the Saturday night of our stay but it was fully booked a month in advance so we ended up in here on the Sunday. That with the review profile on here meant our expectations were very high. Sadly they weren't quite met - more from the food perspective than the service though, which was friendly and attentive throughout. It's a family-run place and there were just 3 staff covering all of the jobs so they were working hard.
For starters we had the olives with cheese - a good flavour combination and the prawn cocktail. Prawns were sizeable and juicy, although the sauce was a bit thin and I suspect was not home-made.
Mains - my wife had the prawn and mushroom pasta, which was a flavour combination that didn't quite work unfortunately. The mixed green salad side dish came topped with tomatoes, which my wife can't eat so they had to be picked out. I had the steak with mushrooms. The steak was cooked OK but lacked any real flavour of it's own. Some of the mushrooms were a little bitter, and for £20 I expected something a bit better really. I asked for mayonnaise, which came delivered as some plastic sachets in a little ramekin. What a let-down for a restaurant at this level. The Parmesan that accompanied my wife's pasta looked like it had come out of a plastic supermarket tub - not freshly grated, and no fresh black pepper was offered.
None of the deserts took my fancy, but my wife had the tiramisu. This looked home-made and was good, although the portion was not that large.
Overall, I would rate this as no better than average, and it certainly didn't live up to the expectations set from other reviews on here. Perhaps we chose badly - the pizzas were definitely freshly cooked and looked really good, but a restaurant should be able to deliver all of the food on the menu to the same standard.
There was nothing desperately bad, just nothing to lift it above average.

Very clean. Very nice toilets to.
Food is extremely good, you may have a wait, but its worth it. Presentation good.I had the lamb chops. Done perfectly to my liking. Service was spot on, very tentative.
I thought the wine's were a bit over priced though.

Have been looking forward to going for some time, particularly because of the reviews, but I have to say it didn't wow us. Went twice just to make sure. The food was tasty, service was very good, but clearly our expectations were set rather high. Just a bit disappointed I guess.

We stayed a Friday and Saturday night in Eastbourne, we didn't book for the Friday and were told there was no room so we booked for the Saturday. So glad we did as it was a delicious meal. The business is family run, an extensive menu of Italian favourites all at a reasonable price. We would definitely visit again if in Eastbourne. Highly recommend the tiramisu!
