Bonfire Night and Other Upcoming Events in Corby this November 2012 (other than politics!)

It's time once again to lock in and sedate your dogs, cats, horses and grand parents for Bonfire night extravaganzas in Corby!

Loads of public venues to choose from as advertised in our Events section, but to limit space, I'm going to suggest just 3. And this year you can go to all of them!

Saturday November 3rd at Wilbarston Park

... and Village Hall, Wilbarston - always a great and safe display for all the family. I've been going for years and it gets bigger and better each time. Superbly organised bonfire and firework display and a great 'watering hole' afterwards to catch up with friends. Raffles, awards and prizes etc - fun begins at 6.30pm. Don't miss it. Entry by donations on the gate.

Sunday 4th November - at Brigstock -

The Meadows, Bridge Street, Brigstock NN14 3ET. Professional bonfire and firework display for all the family, with bar food, raffle and refreshments. Tickets (£3) in advance from Brigstock Newsagents, or £4 on the gate.

Monday November 5th at Corby Boating Lake,

Cottingham Road - The Corby Bonfire and Firework display. Sponsored by Willow Place and Corby Town Centre, with Corby Borough Council, this event gets more popular every year - spectacular venue - highly organised firework display.

6.30pm - Procession assembles at the Swimming Pool Car Park.
6.45pm - Procession moves from car park to the bonfire, led by a piper.
7.00pm - Bonfire is lit
7.30pm - the fireworks begin.

NB: Drivers to use town centre car parks only please.

Wherever you're partying, have a great and safe one!

Now, what else is happening that I recommend?

There are some great live bands playing in the town. I went to see Queen2 at the Corby Rugby Club last Saturday. As a massive
Queen fan, I was a bit sceptical, but there I was rockin away with the rest of them - most of them at least 40 years younger than me, and I loved it! They were very good.

Saturday November 10th - At The Shire Horse Pub (Willow Brook Road, Corby)

... they have regular entertainment with some great local bands, and if you haven't already noticed in the events section, they've booked:

THE BAY CITY ROLLERS (with Eric Faulkner and Co)

- coming to The Shire Horse Pub on Saturday November 10th!

So you can rock away to 'Bye Bye Baby', 'Shang alang', and 'Give a little Love' and roll back the years. Click here for more details.

So, you can support your local events and have great fun doing it.
