Sue was recommended to me for my son. He’d been learning to drive on and off for quite some time but fell apart when thinking about taking his test. She built rapport with him (and me) very quickly, and identified ways to help him fill in the gaps caused by his need to think deeply and analytically.
Although it’s fantastic that he passed his test, we’re missing our weekly pearls of wisdom from Sue! I feel confident that he’s been given every tool possible to be a safe, competent driver and I cannot wait for my next child to learn with Toad…

I recently passed my driving test first time after learning with Sue and could not have done it without her patience, expertise and encouragement along the way!
Sue is an expert instructor who will work endlessly to ensure you are not only prepared for the test itself, but prepared to deal with anything on the roads confidently and independently. Her wide range of teaching resources, particularly the use of the iPad, and detailed lesson feedback & planning helped to develop my understanding of the roads along the way, transforming me from a nervous and hesitant driver into one that now drives with well-rounded knowledge and confidence.
Alongside planning our lessons to ensure we covered all sorts of situations and road conditions, Sue went above and beyond to help me feel ready for the driving test, from organising mock tests with other driving instructors to breaking down the course of events on the day to help it all feel a bit less daunting.
She has been a joy to be in the car with and I will miss our lessons!

What can I say, Sue you are quite possibly the best driving instructor in the UK!! Thank you so much for all your hard work and patience when it came to teaching my daughter, you went above and beyond and I am forever grateful. You ensured she had the tools and knowledge to start her driving journey and I feel confident that after passing today, she will continue this journey safely and in any situation, will think ‘what would Sue do’

Having not taken my first driving lesson until the ripe old age of 44, it’s fair to say I was mildly anxious as I undertook my long overdue journey as a learner driver. However, I needn’t have worried. Between them Sue and Ben couldn’t have been more understanding. Via a combination of expertise and diligence they gave me the knowledge, skills, and crucially, the confidence to pass my test first time. Toad’s is easily the best driving school around and the reviews back up that statement. Thank you so much Sue and Ben.

My Son had failed his test a few times and was becoming disheartened and loosing confidence even though his basic skills seemed ok. We found Sue thanks to the fabulous reviews she was receiving and she was JUST WHAT HE NEEDED. She made him focus, gave him clear, expert tuition (not just for passing his test, but for becoming a safe and courteous driver), she also gave him his confidence back. HE PASSED HIS TEST ON FRIDAY! Whilst I don’t want to take away from his own achievement we both feel that Sue was the X-factor that he needed and would recommend her wholeheartedly.

I am absolutely over the moon that I am now able to drive after passing my test a couple of days ago, thanks to the help and support of the lovely Sue. From the very start and throughout my journey, Sue has been calm, patient and understanding. She recognised my strengths and weaknesses and always adapted her methods of teaching to help me overcome barriers and improve my skills. In addition to this, Sue made all of my lessons fun and enjoyable, something that I always looked forward to. Every lesson was varied, but always of benefit, with a mixture of practical driving and moments to stop and reflect. Wherever we drove, Sue would always teach me how to be a safe and considerate driver, teaching me not only how to control a car and use my mirrors, but to observe everything around me, anticipate anything and know how to deal with it and ask myself “is it safe and is it necessary?”. Sue has always gone above and beyond to help me in achieving my goal, whilst allowing me to take things at my own pace and has always made me feel at ease. I would recommend Sue as a driving instructor to anyone wishing to learn. Thank you Sue!

Sue helped my son to become a safe, considerate and safe driver. She was always patient and supportive and he quickly built up confidence in his own ability to make independent decisions. He demonstrated this with a first time pass in his own car. Highly recommended by me to any other parent trying to find the best instructor to take care of your child. Lessons were fun and not restricted to just driving test routes. My son has driven all over Cambridgeshire in the lessons with Sue and I feel he is truly ready to drive on his own. Thank you Sue.

Sue has taught all my 3 children to drive and they all passed the 1st time . Unlike other instructors sue teaches how to actually drive and not just how to pass your test . Sue is calm patient and reliable I would recommend her to anyone .

Sue has been the best driving instructor. She keeps you calm and talks you through everything. She has her students best interests and my two sisters also had her as a driving instructor. All 3 of us passed first 1st time with sue, she is absolutely amazing! I can’t recommend her enough she is the BEST at what she does.

sue really helped me so much with my driving - she stuck with me all throughout the pandemic and helped me where i needed it most. she taught me to drive properly, not just how to pass my test. she gave wonderful lessons, and also taught me how to use independent practice really efficiently. would highly recommend!

My son has just passed with Sue, after my daughter passed a couple of years ago. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else. She is very knowledgeable, patient, friendly and can adapt her teaching to cater for each student.

I passed my B + E test today with many thanks to Sue. I had a assessment and practice before the test. Was feeling very confident the day before my test Sue had tought me everything I needed to know with many more tips and tricks! On the day I was very nervous but Sue managed to calm my nerves ang get me through with a first time pass. Sue is a great teacher with loads of knowledge and experience and I couldn't of done it with out her.
