So many people have a fear of going to the dentist it can be quite a stressful time for them. It could of been a bad past experience or sensitive teeth or even a fear of the sounds or smell you find at a dentist that might of caused the fear. The problem with having a fear is you end up putting off going and that in turn can lead to dental problems causing you more issues and more cost.

Sedation can really help someone who has a bad fear. Using IV sedation you will become fully relaxed for the duration of your treatment, experiencing no pain and remembering little of the treatment afterwards. You will also be monitored continuously to ensure you are medically well.

At All Smiles Dental Practice in Bromley they have an in-house anaesthetist Molly Hedley who is fully trained and will administer the intravenous sedative drugs to put you in a relaxed state using safe and proven techniques.

This is not the same as a 'general anaesthetic' like those administered in hospitals, as you will breathe on your own, but you won't be aware of or remember any dental procedures or even getting numb. After the procedure is finished you'll be brought round, and you should have a friend or family member to take you home as you won't be able to drive. The effects of IV sedation can last for five to six hours.

Not only will this help you relax it can also enable All Smiles to complete multiple procedures in one appointment! Which has got to be a good thing!

If you have been putting off the dentist this could make it easier for you. Why not give All Smiles a call to find out more on 020 8460 1065
