Very busy today due to children being on half term holidays.friendly greeted by waiter apologised for having to wait as we needed a table for 5 and room for pushchair. More people arrived waiter still very courteous wanting a table for 5 . Next a group of 17 people arrived😔 No problem we were seated within 15 minutes as was the other table of 5 and the rest within 15 minutes after us . Not sure if waiter is part of family I apologise as my brother and family are frequent visitors but we are not. Wonderful fish and chips bread and butter and cup of tea. Thank you so much for working so hard to accommodate everyone you are polite and brilliant.

Olympus fish and chip restaurant has a wide menu range. The staff are very friendly and the service is brilliant which is important when you have a limited time to eat ( we were going to the theatre).

Every time ive been here it has been fantastic, the food, the service, everything. Yes it costs more than your local chippy but it is worth every penny.

I find the Olympus to be very pretentious, or maybe its just me being a commoner. A nice place, with nice service, and to be fair the prices are displayed externally so it isn't as much of a shock as it could be.
The portion sizes are reasonable but that just adds to the lack of value for me.
Although everything is nicely presented and the food is always nice, I am left with a feeling of having been ripped off.
It's almost like getting a taxi somewhere and being picked up in a beautiful car, with a fantastic driver who is very friendly, but then overcharges for the journey.
No doubt I'll be visiting again , but I will probably leave with the same feeling.

Best fish and chips around. If you have not been, try it! You will be greeted at the door and looked after very well. Service with a smile is second to none. The owner, Tassos, certainly knows how to run a business and keep his customers returning time after time. You will see him round and about chatting to everyone. Also try Tassos Tours. Coach tours with a difference where you start with tea and toasted teacake in the restaurant before boarding your coach and return to tea and scones. Brilliant!!!

It's reputation for selling top notch fish and chips is very well founded as we found out when we called for some on our way home from a shopping trip to Bolton town centre this week. Excellent quality and good value for money as well.

On behalf of my mum and her friends who stopped at olympus today on a bullocks coach trip, you really made it very enjoyable. The restaurant was also lovely and clean.

The food was delicious! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. We will certain be going back soon.

Whenever I go there's great service & great food served quickly & reasonably priced. I particularly like going in the evening when they often have a pianist playing. Definitely worth a visit.

Called in to the Olympus before travelling to Manchester for a show on the train. Arrived at 5pm and invited to sit anywhere by the friendly staff. Had to ask for a menu after over 10 mins. Only around 5/6 other tables occupied so it wasn't as though they were busy.
Ordered our meals with one pot of tea and coffee. The coffee came with a greasy film floating on the top. This was quickly replaced.
The Plaice and chips we had both ordered came fairly quickly however the fish wasn't particularly nice. Should have stayed safe with the cod. Quite disappointing.
Been here many times before and have always had lovely food, not sure what happened on this occasion, maybe because it was at the end of the day? Every other time has been lunch or early afternoon but I would expect a restaurant like this to deliver good food throughout the day.
Staff as always were extremely friendly and apologetic with the coffee issue and that is the only reason I gave 3 marks on this occasion.
Having said that it has not put me off going here as it is a lovely place. One bad meal is not a reason never to go again.

One of the very few places left in Bolton you can buy traditional fish and chips. Chips always cooked to perfection.

went today with my friend & loved the décor, everywhere was very clean, a man was playing the piano (very special) the menu was very detailed (6 chips !) catering for all tastes & portions although a fish & chip restaurant other items were on the menu I had the cod (again you can choice the size you want) chips & peas this came with bread & butter, tea or coffee, vimto or orange juice, reasonably priced, the staff are very friendly (family owned) greeting you at the door with a smile you can sit where you want (I recommend the orangey great comfy seats, very bright lighting) food delivered quickly - the afters menu apple & custard, sponge & custard, scones, cream & jam etc I had the apple pie & it was delicious - no rush to leave cannot wait to return

I an my wife were visiting Bolton to do a little shopping and had been told to visit the Olympus. We did so and after having to wait for a table were shown to one. We were given a menu and was a little astounded at the prices, £8.60 for fish, chips, peas and a cup of tea. Obviously seeing that we were older we were offered the Pensioner's Special (How I hate the term 'Pensioner' which indicates income not age.) which was the same menu, minus the peas, or so we thought at a price of £7.20, Sadly they must think that us 'pensioners' eat like sparrows as the portions were very small. The food was of reasonable quality but the child-like portions made it poor value for money. Shan't be going there again. By the way I'm not being miserly, I would happily pay a fair price for a fair meal, but could have had a large carvery meal for less nearby.

The concept of a fish & chip restaurant is simple but the execution here is superb. This is a large restaurant (250 seats) but the whole operation is smooth and efficient. From the layout of the printed menus to the quality of the food, spacious layout, cleanliness and speed of service my wife and I found it faultless and excellent value for money. We've been to much more expensive restaurants than Olympus but have rarely been attended to so well with the waitress helping me on with my coat as we departed and opening the door for us with a smile. This was our third visit in four weeks and we'll be back.

The food is very nice for all tastes, unfortunately when I visited a choir were trying to sing above everyone chatting I was embarrassed for them.Usually a pianist can be heard very pleasantly in the background.
There is no denying the staff are very friendly and efficient but I prefer to be served at the table and not queuing at the counter to order food.
