Visited the olmpus and the food did not disappoint. The fish and chips was so tasty and fresh, so much better than any chip shop I've ever visited before, the owner was so lovely and greeted all the guests as they arrived and left. Just a really nice place and can't wait to return.

We called in for a late lunch after a busy morning in Bolton. The staff where so helpful, and the restaurant warm and welcoming. We ordered, fish, chips and mushy peas. Tea for 2 and bread and butter! It was excellent! The fish was fresh and tasty and real chips. I love my cup of tea and rarely find somewhere that makes proper cuppa. It was brilliant and.
I even purchased their own brand of tartare sauce and at £1.50 cant complain. This was my first visit to The Olympus, but wont be my last.

What an excellent place , good old fashioned superb fish & chips + bread & butter and a pot of tea or coffee. Everyone is greeted by the most courteous of young men who open the door for you, take your coat, then make sure you are seated at your table of choice, either in the restaurant or the atrium. Even a piano & maestro adds to the great atmosphere. The food is without doubt the best around, second bar none! Well worth a visit!

The Olympus fish restaurant is the nicest chip shop I have ever stepped into! Clean, beautifully decorated, and more like what you would expect in a swanky Hotel. They have loads of space, and even a piano, although nobody was playing it when I went there for a meal. I give it five stars for cleanliness and décor and service, and two for mediocre fish and chips and pricey! Sorry, but nowhere near the standard of the Granada Fish Bar in Fleetwood, who have won the best fish and chips in the top five north west chippy's for six years running,

A Bolton institution and a damn fine chip shop to boot. Great range of meals on offer; mostly of fish & chip variety but alternatives on offer. Haddock, Plaice, etc. as well as ubiquitous cod.
Often has a pianist tinkling on the ivories. New orangery is a great space, esp. in summer.
Super friendly staff. Recommended, even if you don't live in Bolton - will be worth the trip.

I have dined at the Olympus many times over years and have never had a bad experience. Yes, one could say it's a little pricey but you are assured quality on all fronts. There is plenty of room in the well appointed main dining area or the light and airey orangery. I have always found staff, welcoming, helpful and courteous. I've never waited long for my meal once ordered and it has never disappointed. Their fish and chips are delicious and even when I've tried other dishes from the menu it has been very good and well presented. I have dined with friends, colleagues and family on numerous occasions and it has always been a pleasant experience.

I am always impressed just how accommodating and pleasant the staff are. As soon as you step in, they ask you your table preference and escort you to it, then assist you off with your coat (and on again as you are ready to leave). The food is all freshly cooked and nicely presented. There are plenty of other menu choices if you dont want fish and chips. Reasonably priced and the place is spotless. Highly recommended.

What can I say, I love this place. Definitely the best fish restaurant in Bolton. My self and my husband frequently visit for our cod meal. The whole experience is lovely, from being greeted at the door to being helped with my coat and seen to the door. When visiting Bolton, it is a must that you visit Olympus.

A very busy but efficient cafe/ restaurant. The wait staff were very pleasant, helpful and extremely efficient. The food was fast but of a high quality. The prices were good and included a very economical pensioners special. The menu is a fish and chip menus but has sufficient variety. It has a feel like the restaurants of my childhood in the north of England, when people expected good quality, good service and value for money. We will visit again on a weekday to see what it is like when perhaps less busy. Very well done Olympus!

Ate here on Saturday afternoon with my partner and 2 children after doing some shopping. Upon entering it was very busy, literally full, and a waiter cleared a table within a minute of us entering. The waiter was very pleasant and professional. The menu was typical fish and chips, and I ordered 4 lots of pie, chips and gravy with 3 cola's and a pot of tea. The price was a staggering £31.50 which I thought was very expensive. The food arrived quickly with the drinks a few minutes after. The food was good and the pies are advertised as Hollands, although my meat and potato didn't taste like a Hollands. The waiter came over when my partner coughed and asked if she'd like some water and upon us leaving he helped her and the girls with their coats. Very attentive and professional staff holding the door open etc. Would I come back? Possibly, but I do think it's over priced for what's essentially fast food.

My husband and I went in for an early evening meal, both had fish and chip meal with peas, bread and butter, cup of tea. Best chips in Bolton or anywhere for miles, fish melted in mouth. Grand piano with pianist playing classy tunes, in lovely surroundings.

We were greeted at the door, shown to a table and told to order our meal at the counter. Never tasted such nice fish and chips. There is a beautiful grand piano in the restaurant, now that is really classy, unfortunately there was no one playing it at the time. Very good service by the waitress with a smile. The whole place was very clean and the tables cleared straight away. The décor in the loos was really nice. As we exit, the door is once again opened and we were told to have a nice day. Highly recommended.

I am a big fish and chip fan, and have travelled a lot of the UK sampling my favourite cod and chip platter. I was going to have a takeaway from the counter next door, but thought since the restaurant seemed so grand I would give it a try. It was a very big difference in price to takeout or eat in, and I was on a bit of a budget but gave it a go anyway.
Exceptional service and speedy food. The only gripe was the miniscule portion. Exactly the same size portion as one of the fish and chip ready meals in a supermarket.
Very good taste and very fresh but just not enough and I was still hungry.
This is the most I have ever paid for fish and chips for the portion size, costing even more here than I paid London.
If I ever return to Bolton I will use the takeaway side as it will give me a hearty feed for value.
I also think that this establishment caters mainly to the elderly, although I was treated very well and even had my jacket helped on.
Lovely staff and management too.
