I have only had chips from the take away here, but they were gorgeous. Big light and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Yum!

Such a warm welcome from everyone, great service & a happy atmosphere to meet up with friends or just pop in when you are passing by, always consistently good & very good value too. Treat yourself next time you are in the town centre!

We went as a large group and wanted to sit outside in the open courtyard. The staff wer so helpful and friendly. There were not enough tables for us all to sit at so they went to the cellar to get some more tables and chairs and ensured that everybody ws sat and comfortable. The food was delicious, plentiful and great value.

We arrived at the restaurant around 1.30pm it was fairly quiet so we managed to secure a seat in the orangery. Everywhere looked clean and tidy and there was a beautiful grand piano situated in the room. I ordered the cod and chips and peas my son ordered 2fish cakes and chips and my father in law the pudding chips and peas. We found the portions were small and average tasting. The fish cakes were terrible, they were thin and dry and grey looking and didn't look like they contained much fish. all in all an average but expensive dinner.

Have been to this restaurant many times over the years. It is usually the place our friends Teresa and Monica who live in Bolton recommend and indeed they are there every Friday . We were so looking forward to the Fish and Chips and the staff are always welcoming. We were not disappointed, the fish is done to perfection, batter not heavy or greasy and the chips well done and crisp, We did not have dessert but did polish off a bottle of wine and we will return on our next visit Good value for money.

A colleague and I both turned 50, and decided a Friday Chippy Tea was the best way to celebrate it. And where better for a Chippy Tea than the Olympus? Great food, great service, good prices... what more do you want? Gravy on it? (Very good gravy it is, too)

A very pleasant family-run dining experience, from the moment the friendly staff greet you at the door, to the time they help you on with your coat. Fish and Chips has never been so civilised, complete with elegant dining room and in-house pianist at peak times. For a real treat, try their Mousaka with chips. Take-out facilities also available.

This was our second visit to this restuarant, do eat in the conservatory next to the pianist have a glass of the house wine and enjoy the very best fish and chips and service, we had a two course meal each (4 of us) all for £60 which includes wine, bread and butter, tea or coffee and a sweet each, the professional staff show you to your table, once you have selected what you want you go to the till area to pay then sit back to be waited on, the staff and owners and really polite and welcoming, we used to go to the Olympus grill many years ago which was run by the current owners parents, the second generation have definately done their Mum and Dad proud.

I have dined here 3 times now, once as a group organiser on a fam trip, and twice with a group of 40+. Tasos, the owner, is such a happy host, and the welcome is great. The restaurant is quite upmarket and sometimes there is a pianist playing the grand piano. The staff are very efficient and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious and my group love it there. We will return - again and again.

A friend of mine from Bolton has been raving about the Olympus for ages and finally managed to try for myself on a recent visit. Well what cannot say, from the minute we walked in till the end everything was simply perfect. The owner Tassos personally greeted us and asked us to chose our table, the service that followed was better than what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant, a waitress was allocated to us, helped me take my jacket off, showed us the menus and explained in a very friendly way the fish portion sizes and recommended we go for a standard fish and chips dinner which arrived within 5-6 minutes. The fish and the chips, peas were lovely and obviously freshly cooked, even the tartar sauce which i found out later was freshly made was delicious. I have been to many fish and chip shops, but never to one like this, there must have been 200 diners but all we could hear was the sound of some relaxing music played on an actual grand piano situated in the middle of the restaurant and the small army of staff going about effortlessly with their business. Quite an incredible place and despite how busy they were the attention from the staff was top quality, a little pricey perhaps, but certainly worth every penny and a real experience, highly recommended, pity its 120 miles away!

Really pleasant town centre restaurant which serves a variety if dishes as well as the fish and chips the Olympus is famous for. I really like the menu which gives the opportunity to order smaller portions. The quality of the food and service is very good and is excellent value for money.

Located in Bolton town centre this family run business has been in Bolton for decades during this time they have always provided a top class service with outstanding quality produce. The Olympus fish & chips shop and restaurant in Newport street has undergone a massive refurbishment recently and has been done to the highest standards including an orangery which occasionally has a trio playing for diners .One of my favourite dishes is the musaka which is a Greek dish which they do very well. There is also an individual chip shop at the side if you don't have the time to dine in. So if ever you are in Bolton it is well worth a visit you won't be disappointed .
