Once again there was no bad service in sight. Exactly what you order in a timely fashion and with a smile on there faces. The staff here are exceptional. Will revisit again shortly.

been on a coach trip to visit Blackpool,and as part of the tour we visited the Olympus restaurant for our lunch.
although we were a party of 31 people we were treated vey well,the fish and chips were perfect,and I consider myself a bit of a expert living as I do by the seaside.

This is first time we been here. It isn't 'the best fish and chips we had it was very greasy. The chips were ok. We will not be back.

We called in to Olympus Fish & Chip Restaurant at 12:00 hours approx
When we opened the door we were directed to a seat or offered another if we preferred
We decided to have the special
Fish Chips bread and butter and a coffee
I went and paid at the counter and before you had time to blink a delicious hot meal arrived it looked fantastic
Then someone else brought our coffee's with a jug of cream
The food was excellent
The service I don't think you would get better at a five star hotel
If your in Bolton this is the place to go
All excellent plus a fantastic team effort

Called in yesterday for lunch having read good reviews - was NOT disappointed, meal was lovely. The service was fast & friendly, Decor is tasteful, place is spotless, toilets clean. Icing on the cake was the live piano accompaniment to our meal

Olympus is one of the best fish and chip restaurants in lancashire the just enough menu is a little cheaper but if you are looking for great fish and chips in Bolton go no further or you can always try there fish and chip shop next door eat outdoors in the paper

One can not fault The Olympus. Staff kind and courteous always with a smile. Pianist playing. Service fast and efficient. We always get small portion fish dinner. Fish very fresh and real potatoes used for chips. The only reason we go to Bolton. Would recommend.

Although the title seems somewhat bizarre, that is exactly what occurred on my last visit to Olympus - with friends. A small theatre company musical was being performed there - following dinner of .... fish and chips, tea or coffee or, if you wished a bottle of wine. The service was - as always excellent - the food was freshly cooked, tasty and as per usual standards. Olympus put on evenings like this throughout the year - with food and/or music which just adds to the overall enjoyment factor that the owner gives to his public. If you ever visit Bolton I would highly recommend - just at the junction of Newport Street and Great Moor Street. They have a take away chippy, a sit in to eat chippy and the restaurant - can't beat it - the pride of Bolton.

I went to Olympus as they were ready for closing,the chips were insipid and didn't taste very nice. Next time I visit I wont be going near closing.

We hadn't been in here for about 4/5 yrs, not because of the food, just that on my days off we chose to go further afield. Now I've retired we decided to call in because we were in town anyway. The service was excellent just as good as before, we had the fish and chips special and it was brilliant, we asked for the fish to be lightly battered, result... perfect, the fish inside the batter was a beautiful white and they were "proper" chips not frozen. Even though it was quite busy we didn't wait too long for our food to arrive. All In all It was a very pleasant meal, and not too expensive

You can't get better than Olympus for good old fashioned fish and chips. The food is ALWAYS lovely, the place I clean and the staff are at tentative, they even help you into your coat as you leave. You will not be disappointed.

Nice place but missed a trick the chips are not homemade very disappointed fish was nice though i had plaice would have had silver hake but they only do cod ,haddock and plaice . Service is very good and friendly , decor is excellent

Undercooked chips for my liking which was not a one off everyone at work has the same issue. But some may like that. The gravy was divine. Couldn't take card payments at takeout bit so I was escorted through to the restaurant. No big deal but seems very silly.

we found ourselves visiting Bolton, and came across this Olympus fish and chips, bank holiday weekend, all very quiet before the lunch hour rush, busy as the town centre already in full swing of F & D festival. Staffs were in uniform dress, military or what, friendly staff shown us to a table, we were surprised to find Just Enough, and Pensioners deal, including tea, and buttered bread. I think this must be the last remaining place where friendliness come first. My wife says, we must return again, soon.

The best Fish and Chip restaurant in the UK? Big statement, but I know of none better. Friendly, polite and efficient staff, spotlessly clean environment and excellent quality of food. There is an extensive menu if you do not fancy fish, and there are ‘specials’ on offer. Cut through the crisp batter of the fish and you see chunks of pure white tasty cod, not old mush as you find with many others nowadays. My wife and I go on average once a month and are never disappointed. From the first rate welcome at the door to the time we leave it is always a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I did have to smile at a report further down the list where a customer complains “I'd like more than 6 chips please”. Next time he should take his reading glasses as the menu has an option of a mini meal, which clearly states ‘Cod, Six Chips. Mini Peas’. This is ideal if you can’t find enough room for the full meal, but don’t order it and then complain it is not enough!
