We hadn't been in here for about 4/5 yrs, not because of the food, just that on my days off we chose to go further afield. Now I've retired we decided to call in because we were in town anyway. The service was excellent just as good as before, we had the fish and chips special and it was brilliant, we asked for the fish to be lightly battered, result... perfect, the fish inside the batter was a beautiful white and they were "proper" chips not frozen. Even though it was quite busy we didn't wait too long for our food to arrive. All In all It was a very pleasant meal, and not too expensive

You can't get better than Olympus for good old fashioned fish and chips. The food is ALWAYS lovely, the place I clean and the staff are at tentative, they even help you into your coat as you leave. You will not be disappointed.

Undercooked chips for my liking which was not a one off everyone at work has the same issue. But some may like that. The gravy was divine. Couldn't take card payments at takeout bit so I was escorted through to the restaurant. No big deal but seems very silly.

we found ourselves visiting Bolton, and came across this Olympus fish and chips, bank holiday weekend, all very quiet before the lunch hour rush, busy as the town centre already in full swing of F & D festival. Staffs were in uniform dress, military or what, friendly staff shown us to a table, we were surprised to find Just Enough, and Pensioners deal, including tea, and buttered bread. I think this must be the last remaining place where friendliness come first. My wife says, we must return again, soon.

The best Fish and Chip restaurant in the UK? Big statement, but I know of none better. Friendly, polite and efficient staff, spotlessly clean environment and excellent quality of food. There is an extensive menu if you do not fancy fish, and there are ‘specials’ on offer. Cut through the crisp batter of the fish and you see chunks of pure white tasty cod, not old mush as you find with many others nowadays. My wife and I go on average once a month and are never disappointed. From the first rate welcome at the door to the time we leave it is always a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I did have to smile at a report further down the list where a customer complains “I'd like more than 6 chips please”. Next time he should take his reading glasses as the menu has an option of a mini meal, which clearly states ‘Cod, Six Chips. Mini Peas’. This is ideal if you can’t find enough room for the full meal, but don’t order it and then complain it is not enough!

As regular customers of the Olympus fish & chips Restaurant we were in town early one morning so we thought we would try a spot of breakfast. What a disappointment ! we normally go there for lunch which is always top class what a pity they don't put as much effort into the breakfast.
I ordered a full breakfast and received 1 egg,1 piece of bacon and 1 sausage . the quality of the produce was poor especially the sausage witch was one of the cheapest load of rubbish sausage I have ever had (and I have had a few over my 68 tears) They need to invest in organic produce and I am sure people would be happy to pay a little extra for the increase in quality. I will try the breakfast again in the future just to see if there is any improvement .
So come on Olympus pull your sock up and get the same quality on your breakfast as your lunch is.

Been recommended to this restaurant, a bit disappointed as I had high expectation after hearing so much good feedback about the place. I would say it is only average but the staff is very friendly.

Having heard how good the Olympus was from various people , decided to visit with my 4 yr old granddaughter on a Friday lunchtime. We were greeted at the door and promptly shown to a table. Menus given straight away and advised to order at the counter when ready . Within 5 mins of ordering our lunches were on the table. I had the fish ,chips and mushy peas which also on included a pot of tea , hot water and a slice of bread. My granddaughter had the children's sausage and chips which came in a box + little gift and a carton of juice. Also a plate if the child didn't want to eat from the box.All the food was hot and delicious and there was ample . All this for £13.15. I have paid almost as much for just fish + chips for 2 at my local chippy !.Staff were very welcoming and helpful, restaurant light and airy with plenty room between tables , and the toilets were spotless. Don't know what some grumblers expect, but I will certainly come again when next in Bolton.

Visited The Olympus Fish & Chip Restaurant with an elderly lady who lives in a Care Home.
We have been regular visitors over the past few years and always enjoy our lunch at 'The Olympus'. Not only does it have easy access for her wheelchair and disabled facilities, the staff make her feel very special by treating her with dignity and respect - something which is important to all of us!
Many thanks to Tasos and all his wonderful staff - you really are a cut above everyone else in the business.

This place always puts a smile on my face. The staff are overwhelmingly friendly and polite. Very professional. Started going there with my man and now I take the whole family. Very classy place. The piano playing is such a breath of fresh air. The food is always cooked fresh and very good portions. Always a pleasure to visit.

Visited Bolton Market and went near by for what I thought would be a run of the mill chippy lunch. How wrong can you be the place is most definatly an up market fish restaurant. We went on a Tuesday afternoon and it turned out that a resident trio play each Tuesday never seen that in a chippy before the food itself was perfect lovely white flaky cod mushy peas and first class chips.Only drawback - although I couldn't possibly mark such a good place down - is that you have to queue like a chip shop. This is a pain if you want a sweet for example as the ques are long a sign of good food and music. Don't know if or when I will be back in Bolton but if I am I will return to Olympus and the food of the gods (chippy version of ambrosia)

We had the best fish and chips ever with the friendliest and most thoughtful service. The whole of the staff without exception are attentive patient and welcoming to old and young alike. Spotlessly clean excellent décor and the added bonus of a grand piano playing in the background.

We have been coming to Olympus for almost 20 years (& not a pensioner)
It is quality food, quality service, quality staff
It's not a "chippy" it's a quality dining experience
You get what you pay for
No where in Bolton can compete on food quality or service
