Yesterday our north Wales group travelled to Bolton for a day out with Vicky's Coach Tours who organised a lunch at the Olympus Fish and Chip restaurant as part of the trip. What a pleasant surprise on walking into the Olympus. We were warmly greeted by the proprietor and then had an excellent meal, which was accompanied by some very soothing and not too loud music. The food and ambiance was excellent and I am sure the proprietor is proud of his friendly and helpful waiters and other staff. The restaurant look very fully and I guess there were around 150+ people dining and yet we received a nice hot meal within about 10 minutes. There is no doubt that my wife and I will call in again next time we are in Bolton, and we will certainly be recommening the Olympus to others.

We brought 87 people for fish chips & mushy peas today.
Booking was made easy, our few with special requirements were dealt with easily.
Our group arrival was greeted by Taso himself and the service was unbelievable. He had everyone sat down and eating within 10 mins of arrival. Staff are so fast and attentive.
The food was absolutely spot on. Not one complaint from our group.. Only highly complimentary about the food and service. You don't get better than that.
The pianist was a lovely touch. Prices were very reasonable for the service, excellent location and good quality.

Got to be one of the best traditional Chippy's in Bolton. Eat in or Take Away - its not the cheapest take away but is always good.

lunch time on a very cold day. we just wanted fish and chips and mushy peas and that is what we got. They were perfect. The service was excellent, we were served quickly, the staff are friendly and efficient and the menu is varied. The restaurant is warm and attractive, very clean and comfortable. The price is right as well. A nice touch was a pianist playing very nicely, a good change from blaring pop music that you get in some places.

Although I can't comment on the food, on this occasion. I just wanted to say a big thank you to the staff and owner for looking after myself and my colleagues after we had an accident outside this restaurant. The owner invited us in and gave us a lovely cup of tea and some biscuits. This restaurant is always busy and I will definitely eat there next time I'm in Bolton town center shopping.

The chippy experience has never been nicer. With surroundings more suited to a high class restaurant than a chippy and top class food a service this family owned chippy is an excellent place to enjoy a meal alone or with friends; on a shopping trip to Bolton or for a pre-theatre supper. The staff are attentive and friendly and the food delicious.

Our visit was just ok nothing great..I had a baked potato with tuna filling, I found the potato over done and was a bit mushy inside..Wasn't nice ..

By far the best fish and chips you're ever going to eat the staff are so attentive ;the atmosphere is great with live piano music you must give it a try.

I have not visited the Olympus since my last visit several months ago. It is true that it's a very good restaraunt and I did enjoy the fish and chips but my partner didn't, the reason being they don't offer a gluten free option, they do offer jacket potato which is a gluten free option but if your coeliac you don't want a jacket potato you want fish and chips. On discussing this with the owner is attitude was that it may not be profitable which may be true but what about the customer care, non shown. Due to this I will not return. I now go to curley's fish and chip restaurant at Norwich which is set in lovely surroundings and is just as good if not better and more importantly do gluten free fish and chips.

Every time we go to Olympus you are treated with respect, the fish and chips are the best in town we go here nearly every time we go in Town, and is always full to the brim people waiting and no problem for the staff keep it up Oylmpus.

As a regular here I am consistently impressed by the friendly welcome, the good food and pleasant service by the waiters.
It isn't particularly cheap but then it isn't unusually over-expensive either. You know that you'll get an excellent fish and chips in pleasant surroundings and definitely a place I would recommend to anyone visiting Bolton.

I went for lunch here with my wife a couple of weeks ago. It's not the cheapest fish & chip lunch I have had, but it is one of the best. So I guess you get what you pay for. I don't mind paying, if I am getting what I am paying for, as was the case here.

Love this place - big group of 11 of extended family. Everyone loved it. Mum and I both had plaice and chips. Very nicely cooked. Kids had s huge range of food - no complaints at all. Puds good as well. Hot Choc fudge especially. Oh and live pianist on a Saturday evening. Tinkling along for some Cole porter and Beatles. Good stuff
