We visited this hotel for a presentation and there was afternoon tea provided.
This was really very good indeed, the cakes were delicious and the tea was flowing.the staff were very helpful indeed, nothing was to much trouble.

I arrived very late and hungry and all was quiet in the hotel - nonetheless, the staff helped me to order food from a nearby supplier and served me from the bar. All staff were so helpful and friendly and I will definitely look to stay here again if work commitments take me within reach.

Stayed here a few years ago and was at a meeting so convenient to do again. The room was great, and probably had the best nights sleep in a hotel in a long while, the bed was really comfy. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good. Some of the building is a little tired or out dated but overall the value for money.

We recently stayed here on an overnight stay on our way to Scotland and we were pleasantly surprised. We were on a coach trip and have in the past stayed in some very disappointing over night hotels. This is a lovely building and the room was very comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome even though we were only there for 1 night and they had a wedding reception in the hotel. The dinner was very well cooked and three good choices for each course. Our only suggestions is that they put the milk on the table before they served coffee. We were the first to be served coffee and it was luke warm before the milk arrived. That is an easy thing to put right. The breakfast was one of the best we have had in our many stays around the country in different hotels and guest houses. A good choice, well cooked and very tasty. If we were in the area again on our own we would certainly stay there again.

The hotel was brilliant and the staff excellent - this made our stay very pleasant and I would recommend anyone visiting Bolton (Manchester) to check out this hotel. All the main attractions are within 20 - 30 minuets away.

Would've been 4-star had it not been for the saga of the toilet (room 895); in a 4-night stay, I had to raise the problem 3 times and when, eventually, something was done, it led to a different fault!! The communication between the hotel and us as customers left a lot to be desired. On the plus side, room and hotel very clean, friendly staff. A special mention for the kitchen and wait-staff; very good indeed. Breakfasts and evening meals were hot, tasty and substantial. Other minor gripes, but, overall, enjoyable. We would return if in the area.......................but I'd want to check the toilet if offered 895!

Not the usual standard from a Accor hotel. Due to a wedding happing in the hotel or room was not ready, but the receptionist have us no indication how long this might take and told us to wait in the bar. No apology. When we did check we were given the key but no info on leisure facilities or breakfast times or location. The rooms are a bit dated and worn in places but clean, very hot with no air con. When we went to the pool we seemed to be a inconvenience for the attendant. I had ask if he has towels and when asking if the jacuzzi worked he replied not really your better making the bubbles yourself. We found most of the staff uninterested in giving good customer service.

My wife and I arrived from the U.S. on the evening of May 28th to find that the hotel did not have our reservation. I showed them my reservation confirmation and the lady behind the counter told us we were the 4th one that day from Booking.com that was not in their system. I guess I cannot blame the hotel for this. The thing that was odd was that the lady behind the desk said they were full, yet they had a a room for us. We had booked two nights in a privileged King and we ended-up in a very small double with a radiator that would not turn-off and a shower that you had to run around in to get wet. Our complaints fell on deaf ears. At least they had free wif-fi, which I used to pass the time in our hot room - hard to slepp even with the window open. Next day we were moved to a Privileged King and it was like night and day - so much bigger and had a shower that worked - nice room! One plus was that they had free wi-fi in all rooms.

They have a really nice bar/restaurant with really great attentive staff, good drinks selection, and a nice selection of well priced meals. The hotel is in a great, quite location, yet close to the Motorway, so very convenient.

I give the hotel a 3 and the bar/restaurant a 5 - so overall a 4.

Having family in this part of the world, we have been coming here for many years. There is always a great welcome and friendly service from staff old and new.
Like many hotels, in this price range, a number of the rooms usually on offer are not perfect, they may have decorative issue and be looking a little tired, but we have never had a problem with a dirty room or an uncomfortable bed. The meals have been great, with the breakfast being one of the best around, and where there have been minor problems these have been corrected swiftly. Just remember that if something is wrong then you need to TELL THEM for anything to happen!
You also need to be realistic, if you spend less than £150 for a two-night stay with dinner for two on the first night and breakfast on both days, then you are only looking at a price comparable with the likes of Travelodge or Premier Inn!
The dining room is in the old part of the hotel, with a lovely garden.
There is ample parking on site, at no cost, use of the pool and leisure facilities is included and you are about 4 minutes from the M61.
We have stopped here when there have been functions on, such as weddings, and never been troubled by excessive noise in the bedrooms or rowdy guests in the early hours.
Another thing to remember is that you are in the North of England where people tend to be more direct, which does not equate to being rude, a spade is a spade!
Over the years I have stopped here, at Whites and the Britannia at Wigan and without doubt the best value is to be found here.

Very standard chipboard hotel. The lovely photo they use does exist if you look from the right angle, but it's a total contrast to reality, wish I took some photos. Food is average to poor but presented well. Service is inconsistent, some staff can't help enough others not so much.
The rooms and reception are again very budget generic chain hotel style and ours was cleaned to an average standard.
All in, very average. We paid a premium expecting something unique based on the pretty photos but I wouldn't do this again. Just go to a budget hotel, get the same experience and save a load of cash.

Had a nice Easter break with wife and son. Choose hotel for its pool and location. Used pool, very nice, more than location as British weather let us down. Having said that there are lots of shops, restaurants and entertainment nearby if that's your thing. The hotel itself is more 1990's than modern but that's not so bad. Rooms were large and clean if a bit retro. Our only complaint was the showers. I described them as whimpy on checkout ours not to bad but son's not good.
Restaurant was OK reasonable value and fairly tasty without being great gastronome.
Would I return if back in this neck of the woods? If I could get the same deal "yes" full price perhaps not.
Very near to Bolton Wanderers Macron Stadium if you are into your footy

Would stay again. Came the night before we got married. Didn't have the wedding there. Stayed with my bridesmaids and we enjoyed the spa. Rooms were nice enough and had everything we needed for our stay. Set in pretty grounds. No complaints overall.

Was OK but for the money it looked a bit tired. Grand name at travel lodge quality.
Staff were very polite and helpful, the location was very handy for where we needed to be.
Bed was very comfy but we were next to the lift which was a bit noisy.

It's not easy to stay in love. Came back after more than 20 years only to find that not much has changed.
Had a very nice room again, bar is a little bit emptier, Food has remained great. The place is Close enough to town but far enough away to secure privacy and a very good atmosphere.

Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights this month while visiting with family in the area.

Upon arrival, my wife and I were a little concerned with how small the room was. However after seeing 2 other rooms, we realized ours was one of the larger ones, for a standard room.

The rooms are well appointed with the standard items, hair dryer, coffee maker, TV, phone, etc.

The biggest thing we check for is cleanliness when staying in hotels. I have no complaints on this count at all. The room was well maintained throughout our stay.

The bathroom in our room appears to be recently renovated, was very nicely done and again spotlessly clean.

We dined away from the hotel each day so I cannot comment on this area, however my limited dealings with the various staff members on reception were all very positive and I found everybody to be very welcoming and helpful.

The hotel is located close to a major shopping complex, a minute drive from the motorway, yet also only a few minutes away from the piece and quiet of the countryside.

Overall we were very satisfied with our stay at the Georgian House.

Arrived around 11pm hoping to get some sort of dinner. 24hr room service consists of sandwiches & Panni for around £6 plus £5 tray charge.
I ordered a Prawn Marie Rose sandwich & was told it would take 20mins, but 20mins later I was called to be told there was no sauce and would I chose something else. Yes, anything I am really hungry 15 mins later my £11 sandwich arrived. I've attached pictures as I was so disappointed.
I didn't have breakfast.
Room & bathroom was clean if a little tired.

From the minute we arrived we were met by friendly staff, and after a mix up with our room, we ended up with free drinks and two rooms for the same price.

Although not new, the rooms are clean and nice. Everything is in the room from hair dryer to iron and ironing board. The beds are really comfortable, and not once was there noise in the corridors etc in the evenings.

The pool is warm and clean and at certain times we had the pool to ourselves.

We really enjoyed the breakfast choices and the price was good.

I would recommend this hotel, and we certainly will be back.

Second time here with the kids. Friendly staff. Clean room with ample space. Great selection of hot and cold food at the breakfast buffet. Free WiFi handy for technologically savvy kids. Will definitely come again.

I have stayed here regularly now over the past twelve months and standard of accommodation is consistently good. Rooms are clean and well maintained, free wifi and decent sized flat screen TV's in all rooms. The only negative I have is that the menu for evening meals is quite limited and when you stay on a regular basis it does get boring. There are a couple of decent restaurants within a short drive which helps. Buffet breakfast has plenty of choice and staff are always very pleasant. Not sure if I would recommend staying here for leisure, but as a business stop it is more than adequate. Also has a decent gym and pool for the more energetic guests.
