I was looking for reasonably priced accommodation in Bolton and this hotel was a fantastic find. For £70, I got a professional, comfortable room, which was a bargain considering that basic rooms in private houses were going for £60-65. It’s definitely worth paying the small difference for the extra comfort and quality.

This is our go to place for a drink. The staff ,especially ram and Ben are fabulous. Very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. We always look forward to our visits.🍺☕️

Great stopover en route to the Lakes. Incredible service from the lovely Irene in the bar area, who kept me fed and watered whilst I worked. Nothing was too much trouble and she really is fantastic.

Came for afternoon tea it was lovely plenty of tea and coffee very good value for money. Irene was brilliant nothing was too much for her there was 7 of us and we all had a lovely time will definitely be back

Stayed here 12 April to break up a long car journey from Scotland to Kent. Lovely hotel - clean and very well priced. Food tasty and no long wait. Staff friendly and efficient. A particular shout out to Irene, who served us tonight. A lovely, caring lady, who really couldn’t have done more to make us feel comfortable and who went way beyond the extra mile. I wish every hotel had an Irene.

I have stayed several times in early 2026 and the whole team at the Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel made me feel so welcome and at home. Alexis and the team at Reception were extremely accommodating, and Irene in the bar/restaurant couldn't have been more kind and helpful. Delicious latte! The bed was super comfortable and the room very quiet. The breakfast is good value for money too (only £9 if you order the night before). I had a lovely view of Rivington Pike and the moors.

We stayed at Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel for 2 nights with inclusive breakfast.
As many people have highlighted in previous reviews, other hotels may have better quality rooms. However for us the important factors were the fact it was quiet and the staff were polite, approachable and above all helpful.
For example the rooms we had did not have air conditioning so we requested a couple of fans which were promptly brought up. It was the same for any other issues/ requests we had. The rooms we had were clean and serviced daily unless you decide otherwise.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, largely for to the staff.
