Booked this hotel as last minute little break due to the depressing weather in Scotland. The bad news was the weather in England was just as bad, the good news was this little hotel was excellent. Ok, it wasn't so little, but it was run exceptionally well with friendly staff, what you would possibly expect from a family type business. The rooms were fine, very clean, slightly old fashioned but in keeping with the surrounding country style feel. The restaurant was lovely and buffet style breakfast had everything you could hope for. The hotel itself is set on large grounds and had a cute traditional toy shop and tea room at the rear quarters. Importantly for my family the spa, gym and pool were excellent. The outside heated pool in particular a real treat however was for 16s and over. This I understand but to the disappointment of my 12 and 7 year old girls. Overall, a refreshing break at a perfectly suitable hotel. Ideal for commuting to nearby attractions based in Blackpool, Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and Bolton itself. Bromley Cross itself is beautiful area with lovely houses and nice walks should you wish to stretch your legs. All in all, have no problems in recommending this hotel whether your purpose is for business and pleasure.

Great facilities, pool, Gym all good, the hotel itself looks a bit dated and tired but on the whole was comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food however was mostly not good, and the only reason I ate it without complaining is that I was fairly late ordering after using the spa facilities and as the food was delivered it looked like the kitchen staff left shortly after. I should say that I ordered from the bar menu. The pizza was ok, would have been better if all the cheese was cooked and melted, Beef Madras, beef was good, however it did not even have the heat of a korma, mostly tasteless. chicken Kiev and chips with grilled on the vine cherry tomatoes. Chicken was dry and overcooked chips ok, vine tomatoes actually came as one large tomatoes', not what was advertised.
Best food was Thurs, Beef and horseradish sandwich bacon and goats cheese Panini and chips. all good all tasty.
I probably will not stay at this hotel again, it was not the cheapest and there are all the other usual suspects hotel wise very near, it was only the spa that swayed me.

Breakfast was ok. Cost was slightly higher than I have paid nationwide. Only 1 point and not a reflection on the waitress who was very helpful and dealt with my concern.

I asked for the fried eggs to be replenished. However the first standard that arrived were of a poor quality. The second however were fresh. I am a caterer of 26 years and rarely complain about service but I have a thing about the quality of food, even a breakfast chef should supply to the customers.

for the cost. However had to get the waitress to ask the chef for more fried eggs because the standard she replenished to

In need of update.
There were empty wine bottles and glasses left in the gardens and someone had been ill.
None of this was cleaned up in the 2 days we were there so not a good impression.

Staff very good at reception. Tiling and plumbing need attention. Repairs of sauna and showers should be carried out now.

Glad I had a sat nav as it is not that easy to find, follow the Turton Golf Club signs! Comfortable room, easy parking, good range of menu items to suit most tastes and budgets.

I stayed at the Last Drop for one night while away on business. It was fine and there were no issues with my stay.
My only feedback was that I felt that the bar staff (one lady) was overworked, having to manage the bar, glass collections, food orders and delivering the food. All this in a bar full of people on coach trips. She was smiling as she ran round trying to cope but a second member of staff would have helped the situation.

We found the bed uncomfortable. The staff tried to please but a little more attention to detail would of been better. For example, the milk at breakfast ran out, so did the butter. Had to wait for toast. Also, had a very disappointing meal. Paid £15 for fish and chips only to find the chips not properly cooked. They were hard in the middle. For £15 I expect better.

We booked this Hotel as it was where my brother booked his Wedding Reception and neither myself, my family or any of the large number of guests who booked a room were disappointed. The Spa on the Saturday morning just ended a truly wonderful Wedding and stay pat The Last Drop Village. We will be back, with no hesitation.

This place is getting quite tired now and little sign of overhaul. The spa changing rooms showers are rusting, shower heads flopping out of sockets, the changing areas often overflowing with detritus left by previous guests, tiles loose and left on the floors. The spa itself is excellent for hydrotherapy for my wife's condition - hence us continually returning over the last ten years. The hotel rooms have the most uncomfortable mattress's known to man (even T'lodge!) and the breakfast provision was poor on both mornings like our last visit - without the menu choices of past visits being offered. Guests on the next table though were eating eggs benedict and smoked salmon - so they clearly had been given a menu?! As we say - we will return when the price is right and time allows

Lovely short break, fantastic location and great pool and outdoor spa pool. Food good, hotel a little tired but still nice enough to thoroughly enjoy our visit.

Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst on buiness in the area. The hotel is very comfortable, the staff are very friendly and the facilities are good. Breakfast was what you would expect from a good hotel but I cannot comment on anything else to do with the restaurant as I ate out.

On business, the hotel caters for coach parties and weddings in the main. Zero atmosphere in the bar, restaurant expensive. Hotel is made up of a number of buildings and therefore somewhat difficult to get to room with 2 g=bags and carrying suit etc.

However the pool and leisure facilities are superb.

Stayed here a few times now. Rooms are modest and comfy. Spa is great and so is the food. Only real downside is the distance from Bolton but worth it to stay here.

OK so having read the mixed reviews I wasn't expecting much but was really pleasantly surprised, the approach was a bit weird past houses but I guess its the Village!
Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay and yes the place is a little tired in places but it's clean and not really all that tired.
The swimming pool was a decent size unlike many hotels that are twice the price and the inside/outside hot tub was great after a long swim.
