Love this place. They have the best spa facilities as in the pool/jacuzzi would return here again!
Bar/restaurant is fine and plenty to chose from which Is reasonably priced.
Again the pool which is kind of outside/In is fab!

After staying at this hotel about 2-3 times a week for the last six weeks or so, I thought I would write a review. Not something I usually do, but this place warrants it - and I hope I can give potential guests an honest and reassuring overview.
I travel all over the UK each week and you tend to get a little particular when choosing a hotel to make the week go that little much easier. Having stayed in nearly all the hotels that come up on booking sites The Last Drop trumps them all by a long way. It is slightly out of Bolton centre (a good thing in my opinion as it can be a little depressing ) - but when you arrive here, it feels like you are on a mini-break due to the fantastic spa, pool and land that the hotel occupies.
I cannot speak highly enough of the staff, especially Bar and Reception, I tend to deal with these more than other parts of the team, but honestly, everyone really goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and if you want a bit of professional banter to unwind, they make you feel comfortable.
Rooms are well appointed - considering the price and the facilities on offer this should be your No1 choice in Bolton.
There is a wide selection of food on offer - the standard is acceptable, however in truth, if this was addressed and just upped another level, the overall feeling of the stay at the hotel would be absolutely spot on. Attention to detail is key, and sometimes this can just slightly lack on the food - I believe actually this is being addressed currently so I look forward to the changes.
The staff work really hard to make you feel welcome and at home. If you can get there for the check in time, do so, and enjoy the pool sauna and hydro pool (which is partly open air incidentally and a great way to unwind) -
All in all, a great hotel- I recommend it if staying in Bolton.
Incidentally, a taxi into Bolton is about £8-12 and it's conveniently placed for the Reebok stadium for concerts and football - and it's much cheaper than many sub standard Manchester Hotels and it's easy enough to get to Manchester (30 min drive - or train from Bolton to Centre.

The hotel is comfortable and staff friendly. The rooms are clean but could do with an update. Expensive evening meals but tasty. Lacked vegetables.
The spa is lovely and has good facilities.

Over thirty years ago this hotel was smaller and had an excellent reputation which was well deserved. Visiting for the first time since 1985, the hotel has grown beyond recognition. At check in I presented a debit card which was scrutinised carefully before being asked to put it in the card reader. As details had been entered on the computer as well as for the payment, I expected to be able to charge items to the room.

The room was a good size, good hanging space and had a comfortable bed but the bathroom, whilst clan and generally bright had a loose tap fitting and the bath sealant badly needed replacing.

Prior to our meal, I ordered two gin and tonics and two beers. As the only person at the bar at the time I was rather taken aback that the barman completely forgot to serve the gin and tonics and after serving the beer just asked for payment for the beer. Having reminded him about the other drinks, when I asked for the bill to be charged to the room I was told no credit details were allocated to the room. £7.80 for a gin and tonic is taking the proverbial.

In the restaurant we where we ate with friends, six of us in total, we ordered a range of four starters stating that we wanted to share. They included whitebait, various breads served with olive oil and vinegar, garlic bread and olives. No plates were offered until we asked for them, and we had to remind the waitress to bring the olive oil and vinegar. For desert three of us ordered Eaton Mess. For £5.95wevwere presented with a few smal, pieces of meringue, a couple of blueberries and a few strawberries arranged around a large plate linked with coulis linking the pieces and the odd blob of cream. These were sent back as, as the three ladies in the party, all excellent cooks with over 140 years experience between them said, the dish was not Eaton Mess by any stretch of the imagination. Alternative dishes were ordered.

We skipped breakfast as the room rate of £74 for a room that was no better than many hotels £10 cheaper did not include breakfast and none of the in room information showed the cost.

This hotel has a large amount of meetings business and its charges look to be aimed at the corporate market. It is certainly trading on its past reputation. We vwon't be staying again

this was our 2nd stay here except this time we had our dog with us, i cannot fault the very efficient and friendly staff at this hotel, from the reception desk right through to the dining, bar and spa staff, the very welcoming Olivia informed us that our room was ready early which was a bonusas we had driven from somerset we had booked a dog friendly room which was superb, very clean and you would not know any dogs had ever stayed there, a lovely touch was the very welcoming housekeeper who appeared with a clean dog bed and bowls for our dog which we did not expect. The hotel is ideally positioned right on the edge of the moor so dog walking certainly not an issue, was good that dog was allowed in the area just before the bar and outside terrace which meant we really could relax.
Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and all food was hot and certainly tasty - would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area, thankyou all staff for your professionalism and making our stay enjoyable and relaxing,

The first time I'd been to this event after 8 years. For the area this is probably as good as you'll get. The staff were pleasant, friendly and competent. The outside views are very nice. The decoration more than adequate. As a local venue, very few can match it.

Having stayed for three nights, the overall impression one gets is of a hotel in need of a good steam clean. The carpet in the room was stained and without slippers being provided, it was with reluctance that one walked without shoes. Towels had further stains as did the upholstery on the chair and bed throw. Although the bathroom had been newly renovated, the exhaust did not function efficiently and one could see mold on the walls due to the steam build-up and with toiletries never replenished throughout the whole stay. Having experienced the standard of cleanliness of the room, we decided to forego the use of the pool and spa.

Breakfast was rather long winded due to the delay in replacing items in the buffet. Having decided to avoid the buffet so to speed up the process by ordering a la carte, the order was taken three times due to staff forgetfulness before it was delivered over 30 minutes later.

If one is not bothered by dubious hygiene standards or lack of efficiency, then the Last Drop Village Hotel would be a satisfactory stay. Saying that however, all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Visited this hotel on Saturday night, check in wasn’t until 2pm initially, the treatments that were included started at 3pm, I felt that there wasn’t enough time to use all the free amenities.
I found that the parking was some what inadequate for the size of the hotel.
I had the neck, shoulder & back massage which was amazing, and the “pedicure” which turned out to be a file & polish, I found this treatment very disappointing to be honest, as a file & polish isn’t a pedicure, or certainly not what I’m used to.
We had a 3 course evening meal & breakfast, which were both very good. The restaurant was comfortable & welcoming.
The rooms were a little tired, as were the hallways.
I would certainly not have paid full price for my stay here.

We had our wedding at The Last Drop on the 9th august it was amazing.
I can not praise the staff enough from the cleaner to the manager they all was very attentive to all of our needs they constantly made sure we were happy and wasn't waiting on anything.

We had an amazing time can't thank everyone enough for making our day so special.
We stayed for three nights and used the spa and swimming pool which was very clean. I had a facial and a massage which felt amazing we can't wait to go back for our complementary stay on our anniversary I am sure it's going to be as great as when we stayed for our wedding.

Just returned from a 4 night stay with 5 friends. The rooms we were allocated in the annex were lovely, large, tastefully decorated and well furnished. It looked as if the decorators had finished the day before. Two of us were in the main building where the room was slightly smaller. Everywhere was spotless. We used the spa and treated ourselves to a treatment. The food was good with three choices for each course of a 3 course meal. Drinks were a little expensive but wide choice available. We were very impressed with the staff who were polite, friendly and very helpful. It was nice to see so many youngsters on the staff and doing such a good job. Our meals were taken in the pub which did mean going outside. It rained heavily on the first night but a member of staff walked us over under a large umbrella. This didn't save our feet from getting wet, so I would take different shoes were I to go again. Overall a very welcoming and well run establishment.

I'd give this hotel 31/2 stars, it was better than average but not very good - I'd rate it as good.
We chose this hotel as it allowed dogs and having visited (but not stayed) many years ago I remembered that there was a field next to the hotel where we could walk them. My husband and I (and the dogs) stayed in a suite and our son had a standard room. In the suite they had provided a small dog bed (too small for ours) and a feeding bowl. The suite had a separate sitting room with a small 2 seater sofa and a chair. The bathroom was off the bedroom and had a shower. Our son's room was the same but without the sitting room. The only problem we found with the rooms was that there was no air conditioning (we stayed during the 'heatwave'). Only the small windows would open and not much air came into the room so we didn't get a good night's sleep.
As we had the dogs we couldn't eat in the restaurant (not allowed in any of the indoor public areas) so we sat outside the Last Drop Inn (a pub in the hotel grounds) and ate there.
Breakfast in the morning was very good and it was great to see that they catered for different diets and they had vegetarian and vegan sausages on the menu.
We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We didn't use the pool/spa/gym. Lots of parking available.

My husband and I recently booked in for the Sunday Spa day (use of the spa facilities, two 25 minute treatments and afternoon tea).

On arrival we were greeted by a lovely member of reception staff who explained everything to us and made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately this was when that level of service stopped.

The changing room facilities are very grubby, these got worse during the day to the point of being very smelly by 6pm. The pool area is ok with the small infinity pool being the saving grace; looking out over the car park isn’t the most tranquil experience.

We both had the back, neck and shoulder massage and I had the scalp massage with my husband having the leg and foot massage. Both treatments were great and the individual rooms were very relaxing. However the “refreshment room” was very lacking. A jug of cold water, (there should have been ice tea but this was always empty) and a coffee machine with paper cups, and tired worn out leather sofas in a circle around the wall. This left us a bit stuck as we didn’t really want to spend all day in the pool but had nowhere else to relax and unwind. The spa toilet also hadn’t been cleaned for a long time, my husband lifted the seat up to find it covered in ground in urine stains. Little things like this add up to giving customers a bad experience!

We were booked in for the afternoon tea at 6pm, after a 15 minute wait at the spa reception we were walked up the corridor and into the bar area, who also didn’t know where to put us, the bar had two other customers in. We were eventually put into a small side room that was set up for a breakfast service. The afternoon tea was fresh and tasty, although one small cup of tea each wasn’t great (no added option to buy a glass of fizz or ask for any other drinks), other than bringing us the afternoon tea there were no members of staff to be seen other than somebody sticking their head round the door as we got up to leave.

For £158 for an afternoon I was expecting a lot more, the hotel is very tired and in need of a deep clean and facelift. What could have been a great day was let down by lots of small issue that added up to leaving a bad taste in our mouths, I certainly won’t be recommend the Last Drop Spa or its facilities.

I visited the hotel a couple of times. The first time I was attending a wedding lunch - staff were brilliant, food was on point (recommend the steak there). The room that we were - I think it was called the Chetham, was really cosy but it needs a bit more light in my opinion.
The second time I visited the spa as I needed a massage. It sorted out my problems with the neck and they were really helpful and polite.

1 night only, but managed to try out the pool. Was so nice after a long coach ride. Room very nice, tho a twin rather than a double. Didn't try to change, as the pool beckoned. Food tasty & plentiful. Best scrambled Eggs on the weeklong coach tour of 3 hotels. Would like to have stayed longer, but home was a strong attraction

We really enjoyed our stay due to the spa . Also the breakfast was really good but only after finding out you can order from the menu. The experience would have been five star if we would have been informed at the beginning that this the case .

My daughter and her fiance recently had their wedding in the Pennine suite here. The staff could not have been more helpful and professional especially Tara our wedding coordinator and Danny who helped the whole day flow perfectly. Our guests enjoyed a superb wedding breakfast served like clockwork. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you everyone for a wonderful day.

Great comfortable family room ( Which was the only type of room available when I made the booking). Downside was that it was next to another family room that contained a very noisy family. I was unable to chill out and relax because of the ten screaming children on the other side of the wall, (actually turned out to be just 2 children but boy could they make some noise..) Bear this in mind booking family rooms. My intended chilled evening before attending a wedding party at the venue was anything but.
