We had a lovely night. Everyone was so friendly and kind. John and Iam especially in the clubhouse. The lady from the restaurant equally helpful. We would definitely recommend. Lovely friendly hotel and great food. Would definitely come back.

Arrived for a two night with elderly mum & pooch. It was a no fuss check in and were pleased with the room location in the courtyard. Doggy bed and bowl provided for Poppi.
Everything and everyone we met both staff and guests were friendly. A big thank you to Julie working in the restaurant/bar. Julie looked after us so well and nothing was too much trouble.
A stroll around the grounds which are kept immaculately tidy and a look around the shops was a treat too.
I would highly recommend this hotel & spa for a relaxing break.

Bit overpriced, the beds are too high, the bathrooms are a bit dated, the sinks have taps on them and not the turn and lift tap, they have disabled changing rooms in the spa, but you have to ask for them to use a hoist to use the pool, they don't have disabled access rooms, the staff are lovely, helpful and friendly, even Gerry McGee is a nice bloke who's happy to have a chat, they've got disabled parking spaces, but as most places you go to, not every car has a blue badge, the restaurant and bar food aren't cheap and there are stairs everywhere, the bathroom bath was small where it had a shower inside,

My husband, my 12 year old son and I traveled up to Bolton from Guildford for him to race in Ironman UK last weekend. It was lovely to arrive and learn that The Last Drop had decided to put on a special 3am breakfast for all athletes and their family’s and then to stay open late that evening for all race finishers to have a well deserved late evening post race meal. The hotel was lovely, comfortable room, great food and a relaxing pool/spa. But I can’t forget the amazing staff that made our weekend and this special event so memorable! Nothing was too much trouble and they couldn’t of been more helpful. A special thanks to the lovely Italian gentleman from the restaurant who helped me with maps and direction and to John and Ian from the bar who couldn’t have been more attentive. If we were to return to the area again we would 100% choose the last drop hotel.

My mother in law organised a special 40th birthday treat for my husband and I on Saturday 6th July.
When we arrived we were told by a very unfriendly receptionist that we had to pay for out stay there and then. I tried to explain to him that my mother in law had taken care of the payment before we arrived as this was supposed to be a surprise for my husbands 40th but he didn't care to listen, and said they couldn't take money off my mother in laws card unless she was there in person. I reluctantly paid for the stay on my card as I didn't want to cause a fuss and ruin my husbands trip. When we returned home and I explained to my mother in law what had happened she was so upset that her gift had not only been spoilt by us having to pay for her treat but that we had been charged more than the original price she had agreed.
The day before we arrived I phoned the hotel to ask what could be organised to make my husbands birthday extra special. I decided on a bottle of the more expensive champagnes they have to offer. When my husband and I returned to our room from the spa later that day we were rather deflated to see the Luke warm 'house's champagne' that had been left in our room instead of the Laurent-perrier I had paid for. When my husband queried this with reception he was told they had none in stock even though I had pre ordered it the day before.
My husband and I have stayed in hotels all over the world and agree that the little touches are what make a guest stay memorable. On this occasion our memories will be of disappointment.

We were here about 40 years ago and wanted to return to see what they had done and were pleasantly surprised. The breakfasts and dinners were top notch. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and Lucy T the waitress was first class at her job and made us feel very special at dinner (ask her about the olives we got for a nibble starter). The spa and pool were excellent especially the infinity outside hot pool. Only a few shops which seem to specialist for wedding presents/gowns/hair dressing, but a charming village. Not the cheapest place to eat or drink but for a special break you can't go wrong. The grounds are brilliant. Only fault we could find was all the bed duvets were 10.5 tog even during the summer, so ask for sheets instead. Information bookish the rooms would also help.

Travelled up to watch a friend compete in the iron man. Had a quick swim this morning to freshen up. Facilities are brill, think it was 18m the main pool. The heated pool & steam room eased the long drive. The young receptionist didn’t take my hussle pass looked busy with her phone. Will have to come stay soon as my friend has said the hotel is also very good, looking forward to seeing you soon!

We stayed here after a function in one of the rooms. We were in room 20, on the balcony around the courtyard.
The room was fine. Beds were comfortable and bathroom very nicely fitted about with an awesome shower. The only problem was the heat....it had been a hot day and the windows are old and with only small openings. Far, far too hot. These rooms either need air conditioning or at least fans.
Breakfast was nice but not worth the extra £12....unless you can eat a LOT!
The pool is nice. The spa section is ok....lovely idea to have the pool open air but it currently overlooks the car park and building works, and, when busy, can be like being in a bath with 30 strangers!

Thank you for a wonderful weekend retirement party and treat. Great rooms, wonderful food and excellent atmosphere at our Friday night party. This was followed, after a leisurely breakfast, with a superb visit to the spa (thank you Sophie for your lovely welcome) and a treatment. All topped off with a delicious afternoon tea. Highly recommended by all our group. Many thanks to the staff for looking after us so well.

Really pleasant and set in lovely surroundings and very friendly service from staff. A real feel of the countryside in a quintessentially English hotel.
The rooms were clean and modern with free WiFi which was to a good standard. The room got very hot at night and could have done with ideally air conditioning, or at least a fan.
The spa was excellent. A large pool at a good temperature and a separate thermal suite which is joined to the pool by a door, but which is designated for adults only to allow some peace and quite. There are 5 different thermal rooms including 2 saunas at different temperatures, a steam room, laconium and aromatherapy room, as well as a gentle jacuzzi set half indoors and half outdoors with room and depth to swim.
The bar and restaurant were of an ‘Old English’ style. Pleasant surroundings but both were very expensive. The restaurant was nice, but overpriced. Food was to a reasonable standard but nothing special.
They seem to provide function services, as does another nearby venue and as such it was a little noisy on a couple of occasions during our stay, with some music at the nearby venue until late (window open because no fan in the room).
There is a nice area adjacent to the hotel with a tea shop, traditional pub and a couple of shops selling chocolate and cupcakes.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
All in all a really nice stay.

Hard to categorise this rather sweet hotel. It's a cross between a country club and a motel. The staff are super, really kind & helpful. The (courtyard) rooms are clean, quite small & have the usual amenities. Breakfasts are terrific, but with one important exception. THE SCRAMBLED EGGS ARE NOT REAL: they're from "liquid eggs" bought in every morning. Otherwise, it's a lovely breakfast. Would go back.

Firstly may I mention the staff. They are exceptional and made our stay even more special. All are attentive and friendly even letting in when we were just walking around the grounds. Massive shout out to the amazing bar men John and I think it was Ian they are absolutely superb, funny and also spot on attentive with service.
The rooms are brilliant, gorgeous shower and bathroom, comfy bed with luxurious bed covers, massive tv, iron ironing board, hair dryer, everything you need.
The spar is brilliant spotlessly clean and amazing pool.
The meal is gorgeous with plenty of choices breakfast is also excellent.
The little shops and the cafe and inn are lovely also and the paninis and sandwiches are really tasty.
I highly recommend this truly excellent hotel, my wife absolutely loved it and as it was our 20th anniversary that really means a lot to me. Thank you to all the team.. we will see you again soon I hope!

Just returned from spa break - good value package which included overnight stay, spa treatments and dinner. Couldn’t fault the spa and the treatments but very disappointed with the hotel. Receptionist who checked us in clearly hates his job and having to deal with customers, not at all welcoming. If you’re having a meal here bring a flask and some sandwiches. After an hour of being seated we had only been served starters and had to prompt the staff to get our main course. In total we were there over 2 hours for three courses - not acceptable. The bar was similarly disappointing, a list of 8 cocktails offered but only 2 were available due to shortage of ingredients!

The rooms were comfortable and clean but customer service was woeful - could do much better.

Hotel nice and comfortable. On arrival man on reception over charged me on the pre approval of my card. Took three attempts to put it right and the intervention of a lady who arrived during the incident. Not a good start. Had a very overpriced meal that was at best okay. I booked a table for six ib the caverary for sunday
On arrival there was no welcome no explanation just a come and get it
As i had asked friends to join us i was embarrassed. Shambolic layout. Very poor vwggie selection. Wife was shown veggie curry. It turned out to be chicken hotpot. Not funny for a veggie person of 40 years. It coyld have had serious consequences with allergies. No apology. It was the waitress last day. Ifelt embarrassed having asked friends over that the service and quality of food was so poor.
The experience was below what i expected of this quality hotlel.
