We stay here regularly when we come to visit family who live nearby. We always bring the dog and find the hotel accommodating, staff friendly and overall, very relaxing experience. On the edge of Bolton there are plenty of rural walks you can go on with great views.

Location is stunning. Hotel complex is amazing and quite unique.

As North Americans,we missed A/C and our room was very hot with no ability to open the window more than a crack.
Also, we were near a public door that was used a lot and banged very loudly until 1am and started up again at 7am. That could be easily fixed if the management would adjust the speed at which the door closes. Hope they look into it.

Otherwise, the hotel complex was very impressive and the staff extremely friendly and accommodating. We would definitely return to The Last Drop Village Hotel on any future trips to Bolton.

My wife and I had a spa day with evening meal, overnight stay and breakfast. We had a completely relaxing stay with good food, good service and a relaxing spa. A special mention for Sarah ( with the bandaged finger ) for her efforts on our behalf when we had difficulty with access to our room.

We booked the package from Wowcher to include Prosecco, two course dinner, overnight stay including breakfast and full use of spa with a 25 minute treatment.

We were not disappointed.

Spa was beautiful and the thermal suite was pure relaxation with the headed outdoor indoor pool.
The food on the evening was great also. The manager Sarah managed the busy restaurant very well and Lucy our server was also very good.
Breakfast this morning was just as good. Aileen ran her team well and offered a welcoming enviroment and Jordan was a very happy individual indeed.

The bedrooms were perfectly clean and just what you need. The bathrooms however are crying out for a referb (please replace shower curtain in room 56 as it smells funky).

Overall an amazing relaxing stay and I will definatly be back in the near future!

Had my wedding here a few years back. The venue was awesome, staff couldn’t do enough for us and the food - meal and buffet was amazing. The hotel room and breakfast was also great. Spa and pool is fun with a hot tub area outside too.

There's definitely good and bad about this place, but the good far outweighs the bad.
Visited in July for a family wedding.
First, the not so great. The hotel is pretty tired, and there are bits that definitely need updating, like the framed prints that are very faded. There are inconsistencies with the rooms. We were given room 217 (I think), but it didn't have enough beds. We called reception who said someone would come and move us. That room had robes and complimentary toiletries. We were moved down to room 107, which had none of that. Family members 2 doors away, also in an executive room, had toiletries, robes and chocolates. Little things, but it's the little things that bump a place up to 5 stars.
Also, the coffee at breakfast is poor instant coffee.
A standard G&T was over £7.50, which is disgusting. That's more than many London pubs I've been to!
Now, the good! The wedding was beautiful! The ceremony room was absolutely sweltering, but the wedding breakfast room was air conditioned, so was great. The food was delicious, and the service was perfectly balanced. Not too intrusive.
The breakfast was good, except for the coffee. The food was regularly replenished, and a good variety of pastries, fruits and cereals. One suggestion is to label the fruit juices. Even after tasting, we didn't know if the dark one was blackcurrant or prune!
The swimming pool is clean and warm. Only went in the family friendly one as we had kids with us. It's basic, but when you go with kids it's about family time together. The swimsuit dryers in the changing rooms are surprisingly good!
We didn't venture into the shops, just the main bar and the pub. If it's hot, the pub is great as it's very cool.
The showers in the rooms weren't excessively powerful, but a constant temperature, which is the main thing!
I asked for a sewing kit, and was given one at reception.
The wedding went without a hitch. All very well organised, and I would highly recommend.
All in all, a great place, and would return.

Lovely stay and what am amazing job the hotel did for a family wedding. The room was good however damp carpet due to a leaking radiator was the only hiccup.

We hadn't stayed here for a year and the suite had been updated since our last visit. It looked more modern and had a safe in the room, which were all improvements.

We couldn't fault the suite or the hotel staff and the setting is amazing.

The problem we had was with parking. Parking is a real issue, especially if you are disabled. There are four disabled spaces, but we noticed two of the four cars parked did not have a Blue Badge. We came back from a night out and it was close to midnight and there were cars near reception, who had just arrived and made their own space as near to reception as possible. The next morning other cars had obviously arrived later and they had made spaces even nearer to the hotel, blocking the way to drive round. There was also a car parked in the white hatchings behind the two disabled spaces, blocking in the car next to us and making it difficult for us to get out. This would stop me from staying here again, if there was a viable alternate, as we had somewhere to be at lunch time, over 100 miles away, so couldn't wait be waiting for someone to move their car.

Fantastic venue for a wedding ! Great service by all
Staff on the hottest day of the year.

Drinks expensive but always are at hotels ... rooms were modern and comfy bed but so hot, no aircon or fans.

Breakfast was plentiful and fresh well worth partaking. The spa looked fantastic and infinity pool but had to work so unable to take full advantage.

We went here for our 30th wedding anniversary and we enjoyed the hotel and spa we had the set meal room deal and the food was very good the staff were very friendly and the room was clean bed very comfortable what you would expect the only down side for me was the lack of choice at the bar I would like to see some artisan ales it was very fun of the mill this could be better

Booked a romantic night away with my partner, we didn’t know too much about this place so it was a lovely surprise when we arrived. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and the room was spacious and comfortable.

We enjoyed the spa, though I’d echo other comments regarding the infinity pool facing out on to the car park and building site, but we still loved it!

My spa treatment was allocated from 5-5:30 and my partner from 5:30-6, meaning that I had half an hour to enjoy the relaxation room, though when my partner joined me we were ushered out as it was closing - the music was turned off and the relaxing atmosphere finished bang on time, which was a little disappointing.

Dinner, bar service and breakfast was AMAZING, the food and service was incredible. I loved the Lamb Kofta and the honey glazed ‘Porkies’ - highly recommended, as was the Eggs Royale for breakfast.

We were brought back into the real world with a bang on the Tuesday morning due to another diner making a bit of an embarrassment of himself - allow me to explain. Breakfast is charged at £15.95, for this you get unlimited tea, coffee & juice, unlimited trips to the continental breakfast buffet, and then a choice of either ‘create your own’ cooked breakfast or a selection of chefs specials (eggs benedict, royale etc). The gentleman behind us was being particularly rude to the staff because he wanted to order multiple breakfasts for himself, and couldn’t understand why this wasn’t allowed. A simple lack of common sense but it did spoil our experience somewhat. Thankfully the team stood their ground, though we did have to put up with his whining for an extended period of time which was a shame.

On the whole, a fabulous night away and we’ll definitely be returning. Top marks to the Last Drop!

We booked this as a much-needed escape from work, and we couldn't have had a better time. The room was perfect, the setting idyllic, the spa and treatments were a delight and the food was delicious, what more is there to say!

If I had to pick fault (which is difficult!) I'd say the placement of the outdoor spa pool is interesting as it looks out across the car park and a housing development, but they can hardly rotate the building can they. Minor, minor point - we still loved it.

Breakfast was delicious but the atmosphere was sadly marred by the below reviewer (jvae59) who was being extremely loud and rude to the waiting staff and manager, demanding two or three breakfasts for one price. I guess what he lacked in manners he made up for in greed. He pointed out that the menu didn't use the word "OR" between each option. The menu didn't say "don't stand on the tables" either but some of us employ common sense in these situations. Not the venue's fault at all though, we found breakfast delicious and plentiful.

We've already decided that this is our new secret retreat, and we're planning to return later in the year to re-live the experience, and relieve the stresses of day to day life :-)

This is a amazing hotel with lovely grounds but I would say the shops ‘in the village’ are a bit expensive. £4 for a milkshake but they got our order wrong. The setting and food were amazing would reccomend and come again.

Just stayed at the hotel with my mum for a spa night. The whole hotel needs a refurb, quite grubby and unclean in parts. Bits all over the carpet near the rooms, the oldest stiffest shower going and all needs updating. The bar was dated and the seating area was tatty, however a good selection of wine. Breakfast was very good 👍🏻

Perched on the fringe of the North Pennine Moors, the Last Drop Village is an interesting place to stay. Once a collection of 17th century farm buildings, it was turned into a unique hotel in the late 1960s. The old stone buildings form a cobbled street of cottages and shops (bakery, chocolatier, bridal boutique etc.) complete with a village square outside the village pub. All very quaint. It’s a bit like Portmerion but on a smaller scale and less Italian.

Like most hotels that are built in and around historic buildings there are modern add-ons. In the case of the Last Drop these include a spa (nice pool, thermal suite) and conference centre. I imagine they have a lot of weddings and conferences here. The modern bits are not exactly sympathetic in architectural style with the older buildings, but then that’s modern day planners for you.

We stayed here on the way up to the Lake District so we shared a family room (with the dog). The room was in one of the newer bits. It was clean, spacious and comfortable although it lacked anything in the way of character. Functional, that’s the word. My wife took an irrational dislike to the large picture of a swan on the wall - no idea why.

The restaurant is housed in the main part of the hotel. I assume these were barns of some sort back in the day. It still has that barn-like feel. The food is good and the staff were excellent but the choice of beer from the bar is poor if you don’t drink lager. If you do then you’re in your element - there’s quite a choice of tasteless gassy alcohol for you to pick from. For the connoisseurs amongst us there’s ‘bitter’. I’ve tasted worse, but that’s about all I can say.

In common with hotels all over the country you can get a room here for a reasonable price (our family room cost £139 for us plus £20 for the dog), but that is room only. Add in breakfast (£12.50 a head for a help yourself buffet type affair, OK but I’ve had better) and dinner at the usual inflated hotel prices and suddenly it’s all a little less reasonable.

As I said, interesting place

Arrived for a two night with elderly mum & pooch. It was a no fuss check in and were pleased with the room location in the courtyard. Doggy bed and bowl provided for Poppi.
Everything and everyone we met both staff and guests were friendly. A big thank you to Julie working in the restaurant/bar. Julie looked after us so well and nothing was too much trouble.
A stroll around the grounds which are kept immaculately tidy and a look around the shops was a treat too.
I would highly recommend this hotel & spa for a relaxing break.

Bit overpriced, the beds are too high, the bathrooms are a bit dated, the sinks have taps on them and not the turn and lift tap, they have disabled changing rooms in the spa, but you have to ask for them to use a hoist to use the pool, they don't have disabled access rooms, the staff are lovely, helpful and friendly, even Gerry McGee is a nice bloke who's happy to have a chat, they've got disabled parking spaces, but as most places you go to, not every car has a blue badge, the restaurant and bar food aren't cheap and there are stairs everywhere, the bathroom bath was small where it had a shower inside,
