Lots of historic character in the original building and surrounded by fields but the place is ready for a refurbishment in parts.

Bar was nicely decorated and large. Suitable for a business meeting which was why I was there.

I was upgraded without request which I found to be a very nice gesture for a regular customer.
The staff are always very friendly as well

Staff were very helpful and pleasant, however, the hotel is looking tired and in need of updating - we upgraded to an exec room, and to be honest, based on rooms like this at other hotels, we might as well stayed in a normal room - bathroom needs decorating and room needs a refresh - the little perks are just that little. Breakfast was a pain - to have to queue in for either cold or hot breakfast was a joke - why are these not in separate areas, why are they not bigger to accommodate people when hotel is running full or at peak times
As mentioned the staff were very good, but it needs updating

I was really impressed with this hotel. From the outside it looks lovely and like a castle. Inside is just as nice, with a nice staircase. The room was a good size and really clean. The pool nice and cool and a good seating area. Check in Was good, Emily (I'm sure was her name) was very welcoming and lovely. The restaurant staff were brilliant, very welcoming and always ensured everything was ok. The salmon risotto was beautiful! I would definetly reccommend this hotel to people. I had a lovely relaxing weekend away.

Staff very attentative and went out of the way to help in anyway they could.
Our room on the other hand was very dated and smelt a little damp.
Prices were quite dear for the area.

Nice rambling old country house - i was in the rather quiet executive wing which meant you could work up an appetite walking to breakfast. Staff very friendly and of a high standard that i've come to expect from the AccorHotels group

Looking a bit tired in all parts including the spa. Rooms ok but could do with a bit of smartning up. Room where breakfast is was incredibly warm - had to leave early and stand outside to cool down

A lovely hotel, and I would gladly return either for business or pleasure.
A recommendation for improvement would be to have air conditioning installed in the rooms. I slept with the bedroom windows open, as there was only a heater.

I was staying for two nights for a friend's wedding and everything went incredible smoothly given just how many weddings were taking place that weekend (4 I think!!). Staff were professional, welcoming and helpful both on reception, in the restaurants and bars and in the spa/gym area.
The main concerns, however, were to do with the hotel building itself. It felt very tired with regard to decor (carpets are worn, walls need painting) and could do with a bit of TLC. The room (executive) was ridiculously hot (to the point of discomfort on our first night) with no air conditioning or fan. The minute you walk into the executive wing of the hotel the heat hits you so think this should be sorted as a matter of priority given a premium is paid to have one of these rooms.
We also found the bar and food costs rather over inflated, but the quality was pretty good and the location made it worthwhile.

We were attending a friends wedding & I have to say the day overall was excellent, the grounds are well maintained, the food very good & the staff could not have been more attentive. We upgraded our room to an "Executive" room, which was tucked away in a wing as far from reception as possible. The room was a little tired and the furniture quite dated. The following morning we used the spa, which was very good.

We came for my sisters 40th Birthday. We was really impressed, great value for money. The Staff was really helpful and friendly. The spa was amazing. The 3 course meal we had was fantastic. I will most definetly returning in the future. Iam thinking of booking again for just me and the husband next time, a nice little romantic night away.
