World Autism Awareness Week
29th March 2016

Everyone should understand autism.

To help do this World Autism Awareness week is back for 2016 aiming to raise awareness and make a huge difference to the lives of autistic people across the UK.

This year's event takes place from Sat April 2nd - Fri April 8th

It's the second year that this event has taken place. Last year over 5,000 people got involved and did their bit in helping the cause, raising over £235,000 to help autistic people and their families. That’s a fantastic amount of money – but this year the organisers want World Autism Awareness Week to be bigger and better!

They need help to do this though, and are looking for clubs, schools, and businesses to get involved so that in the future all autistic people can be understood, appreciated and accepted.

So how can you get involved and make a difference?

Well, there are many fantastic events planned up and down the UK, including the popular Night Walks for Autism. You may choose to hold your own sponsored event (there are free down-loadable packs available that can give you plenty of tips and inspiration)

Locally, Hawcoat Park are holding a wonderful family variety night in aid of World Autism Awareness Day this Saturday (April 2nd) featuring live music, comedy, magic and a prize raffle.
