Fri 14th August – Sun 16th August – Greenodd Brewery Beer Festival

Greenodd Brewery kick off their 3 day Beer Festival at The Ship Inn this Friday at 5pm. Come along and sample the many fine ales at this popular village pub.

Fri 14th August 9.30pm – 11.45pm Never The Bride Live at Barrow Blues

Never The Bride bring their electric and unquestionable live energy to Barrow Blues on Friday 14th August. It's going to be an incredible night -  Never The Bride have amazed and floored audiences and peer groups alike over their 25 years of service – these ladies are true rock and roll royalty.

The event starts at 9.30pm at Barrow Football Supporters Club.

Tickets are £5 each (You have to be aged 18 or over for this event)


Sat 15th August & Sun 16th August – Western Lake District Kite Festival

Kite Display teams from across the North of England converge at Haverigg this weekend for 2 full days of displays.

The weekends entertainment includes: kite making workshops, teddy bear parachute drop, onsite entertainment and specialist kite displays with commentary.

Sat 15th August -  12.30pm Rusland Valley Horticultural Show

This traditional Lakeland Village Shown has sports, exhibits and entertainment including Cumberlan& Westmoreland wrestling and children’s attractions. The Rusland Valley Horticultural Society provides friendly atmosphere, it's made up from a community that works together for a great day out. Something it's done for over 130 years.

Sat 15th August – 2pm – 4pm: A History Of Local Fishing – With Jack Manning

Cartmel Village Hall hosts one of Cumbrias’ best known fishermen this Saturday. Jack Manning will give an illustrated talk about his knowledge of the fishing heritage and industry of Morecombe Bay.

Get down to Tesco Extra in Barrow for another great community car boot sale.

Each pitch cost £7 with all revenue raised going back into the community by way of donations, sponsorship and giveaways. Tesco kindly ask that general footfall donate in the buckets for Tesco's charity of the year fund which this year are: The British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.

Sun 16th August – Coffee, cakes and crafts at Rampside Village Hall

Come and treat yourself and your loved ones to coffee with homemade cake whist you browse the craft stalls and pick up genuine unique handcrafted gifts.  With stalls selling jam and preserves, fabric bunting, homemade cards and much more.

All monies raised are for the Rampside Village Hall fund.

Sun 16th August – Lakeland Country Fair

Torver showground is the setting for the Lakeland Country Fair.

The show starts at 12pm and is packed full of traditional Cumbrian activities and traditions. Come and see the dog show, falconry display and much, much more.

Bring the whole family along for a real treat.

Wed 19th August – Circus Workshop at Rampside Village Hall.

Roll Up! Roll Up! for a workshop like no other! The circus workshop runs from 10am - 3pm on Wed 19th August and is open for any child over the age of 7.

(Younger children can attend as long as they are accompanied by an adult at all times)

The cost per child is £5 for the day.Please bring a packed lunch and drink.

Thurs 20th August –2pm – 5.30pm A Summer’s Afternoon Of Art

St Mary's Hospice are holding an afternoon exhibition of the exciting work of a young local Ulverston artist, Rebekah Claire Matthews. The artwork will be exhibited throughout the Hospice Orangery Café and Day Room and you will be free to walk around and admire the pieces as well as having the opportunity to meet Rebekah herself.
