Cumbria has some of the finest produce in the country. Many local food producers not only supply our local restaurants, hotels and pubs – they supply much further afield too.
Produce from Cumbria graces the tables of many Michelin Star restaurants up and down the country, as they also take delivery of the very best produce our great region has to offer. When it comes to quality, we’re pretty hard to beat.
With this in mind, and to further promote the many fantastic local producers and their wares; Simon Rogan who owns the internationally renowned Michelin Star Restaurant L’Enclume has been named as a judge for a new set of awards taking place this year.
The Delicious Magazine Produce Awards 2016 are taking place to find the very best local artisans and producers that the country has to offer. There will be eight categories for entrants with produce from the earth, sea, dairy and field divided into primary and artisan categories.
The winners from each group in the North West then go into a further round of competition where they will be judged against the winners from eight other regions at a Food Final in London this October.
This is a wonderful opportunity for those quiet, unsung food heroes in our region to step into the limelight and receive the praise and accolades that they richly deserve.
