Join St. Mary's Hospice for a barking mad day out as they host their first ever sponsored walk for dogs on Sunday 11th September.

There is availability for up to 100 dog owners to put their furry friends to the test on the walk, which is held in memory of Family Support Team Leader Mo Kirk. The walk starts from Glaxo Sports and Social Club at 1.30pm, covering 1.5 miles.

The course takes dogs (must be on a lead) and their owners towards the coast and over to the playing fields, after which there will be some well-deserved refreshments.

Event organiser, Zoe Guest said: "Our new Paws for Thought walk in Ulverston is an ideal opportunity for dog owners to get out with their pets and friends and family to enjoy a scenic walk and raise much needed funds for their local hospice. We'd like as many people to join in as possible. Our dear colleague Mo came up with the name for this event and we would like it to be a success in tribute to her.”

All dogs taking part in the sponsored walk will receive an award for their participation and registration is £5. Places can be booked in advance or on the day. Owners will be issued with a sponsor form to try and raise as much money as they can for the important work at St. Mary's Hospice.
