Broadcast live on University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust's YouTube page, the service is open to all families who want to join and remember someone significant in their lives.

Rev Ian Dewar, Lead Chaplain, UHMBT, said: "One of the most difficult things to deal with when a loved one dies is the speed at which life moves on.

"In times such as ours, with a pandemic, this can be made even more difficult because of the various restrictions placed around grief and mourning.

"With this in mind we are inviting you to an online service of remembrance that will have space to allow you to reflect on the life of your loved one."

The service will be broadcast from Westmorland General Hospital on Monday 2 November at 6.30pm and can be watched live on the Trust's YouTube page (please search for University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust on YouTube).

Deborah Wilde, Chaplain, UHMBT, said: "Historically, November has been a time of year when, entering winter, people have taken time to pause and remember those who have died and what impact they had on their lives.

"As part of the service, we will be arranging for candles to be lit in memory of those who have died since the beginning of the year."

If you would like a candle to be lit in remembrance of a loved one, please send the name of the person to either email ian.dewar@mbht.nhs.uk or by post to: Rev Ian Dewar, Chaplaincy Department, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Ashton Road, Lancaster, LA1 4RP by Wednesday 28 October.

A recording of the event will also be shared on the Trust's website in the week following the event.
