Meet the new chef at Bar Five

Bar Five on Dalkeith Street in Barrow may not be known as a centre for fine dining but all that is about to change, Lee Duke, a former chef at The Punchbowl in Crosthwaite has recently moved to Bar Five and is keen to bring new variety to the menu. The Punchbowl is renowned for its fantastic food and Lee’s experience there will ensure that Bar 5 becomes a popular choice for local diners.

Home-made food is the key behind all great menus and all the food here is prepared on site by Lee and his team, and the produce are sourced locally to ensure it’s really fresh.

One of the highlights of the new menu will be the soups that Lee prepares - changing week to week. His talent is also showcased on the specials board which has featured dishes such as Beef Stroganoff , Chicken Boi Boudran, Chilli Enchiladas and Fishermans Pie.

Bar Five is now serving food on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 11.30am and 2.30pm and on a Thursday evening it is Curry night from 6pm till 10pm. On a Friday or Saturday food service starts at 11.30am with last orders at 6.45pm so why not pop down and give Lee a proper welcome to Bar Five?
