Ford Park is a great place to take the family, it offers plenty of space for children to run around and play and boasts a great play area too. Children of all ages can spend an afternoon or morning playing on the zip wire, swings, climbing frame and making use of the field playing football, Frisbee, cricket or even a nice picnic.

The Coach House at Ford Park is fabulous too. From a coffee and cake to something more substantial, the menu offers something for everyone, and everything is made with the freshest produce, with many things coming directly from the superb vegetable gardens adjacent to the café.

The fields of Ford Park are also much-loved by the community as a venue for major events like the finale of the Lantern Procession and Carnival.

It's a hub of the community, and that’s something they want to preserve, which is why this week is Ford Park community consultation week.

From Monday 1st August to Sunday 7th August, the staff and volunteers at Ford Park will be gathering information from visitors to gain a better understanding of what people expect and would like to see at the park.

They want to hear how you use the park, what it is about the park that is important to you and how it could be better. There will be questionnaires at the cafe and people in the park and gardens to gather your views. The questionnaire is short and the information you give will play a vital part in shaping the parks future.

Feedback is very important, and any suggestions, ideas, even constructive criticism will all be taken on board. So if you’re heading to Ford Park this week, please stop and take the time to complete the questionnaire and have your say in the future of the park.
