The fabulous traders at the award winning Barrow Market Hall really stepped up during lockdown, offering deliveries to your doorstep, keeping you stocked with those all important essentials (as well as a few well deserved treats)

As wonderful as that was – nothing beats the buzz of the indoor market, the sounds, the sights – the community spirit.

The really good news is that now the market has opened its doors – you can do just that!

You can now enjoy a leisurely stroll around the indoor market (socially distancing of course) experiencing everything that this friendly, community spirited market has to offer. Not only will you be warm, dry and safe – you can chat to the huge array of expert traders who really know their stuff.

The market constantly re-invents itself (as we saw during lockdown) and the market has some exciting news to be share- including new businesses that have opened, ones that will be opening shortly and established businesses that are expanding to meet demand.

Aphrodite Opella is another new name heading to Barrow Market. Selling designer inspired perfume and makeup and slimming tea and coffee, they will be bringing something completely different to the indoor market.

Shell’s knitwear – opposite The Kitchen Range is now selling a beautiful range of handknitted baby wear – well worth a look!

Collectors Corner are overjoyed to announce that their popular pinball competition is now back up and running. The competition runs till Tues 2nd September and the person with the highest score stands to win a Slush Puppie Machine!

And it’s the end of an era for one of Barrow Marrow Market Halls most well known traders. Mushtaq who has run Sobia Fashions in the market for the last 32 years will be retiring at the end of the month to spend more time with his family so make sure you pop by and give him your best and whilst you’re their make the most of his closing down sale.

Parkers Soft Furnishings also has a Half Price Closing Down Sale on too. Parker’s has always been a trusted and well respected name in the Market Hall, so call by and take a look at their beautiful quality fabrics now available at half price.

So there you go – there’s always something happening in the market. It may have been a while since you last visited – but it’s certainly worth the wait!

You can’t buy happiness – but you can buy local from Barrow Market Hall – and that’s kind of the same thing!
