We all remember our teenage years (some more fondly than others no doubt). For many of us it was a whirlwind of emotions, insecurity and confusion; endless questions and dilemmas about the right and wrong ways of going about things; from sex to exam stress.

Being a teenager can be difficult, and in a bid to help the children of today deal with issues that affect them and play on their minds – a new service called ChatHealth has been created.

ChatHealth offers all year round advice and support to children through its School Nurse texting system.

If a child has a question that, under normal circumstances would be too embarrassing or personal to bring up in conversation, topics like sexual transmitted infections or emergency contraception for example, then they can text a number that goes directly to a School Nurse. They will be replied to as soon as possible.

This gives the child the chance to get the right help and advice for any physical or emotional problems they’re experiencing.

It’s a wonderful service, made even better by the fact that ChatHealth isn’t just available for children during school term time – it’s also accessible to pupils during school holidays (even the long Summer break too)

ChatHealth can be used by any child aged between 11 – 19 years old, Monday to Friday, from 9am – 4pm.

All texts are treated confidentially, but naturally, the safeguarding of any young person is the number one priority, if it’s felt that an individual is at risk.

The ChatHealth number is 07480635458
