British Pie Week 2016
2nd March 2016

We all love a good pie, and here in Furness we’re spoiled for choice.

Whether it’s a pie and peas supper complete with pickles and gravy, or a quick meat and potato to scoff during our lunch breaks, we can’t seem to get enough of them! They’re a British classic!

And there’s so many on offer, it seems that everyone has their own particular favourite pie shop, somewhere they always go to get theirs. Let’s face it - whether it’s your local butchers or bakers, you can’t beat a good pie. People are passionate about their food; and I’ve witnessed normally quiet, calm, unassuming people get into heated debates over who’s pies are better.

Pie lovers will be delighted to hear  that British Pie Week takes place  7th - 13th March, giving you the perfect excuse (not that you’ll need one) to celebrate all things pie related!

A week of eating and promoting pies!  Sounds like heaven and a campaign to really get behind and support. As well as sampling the finest pies that local businesses have to offer there are plenty of fantastic recipes that you could try too.

Here at thebestof we’re on a quest to find the best pie in Furness, and we’ll be sampling some of them over the course of British Pie Week.(hey it’s a hard job, but someone’s got to do it)
