Being a new mum is something to celebrate, but it’s easy to feel like you’re on your own sometimes, and things can be a struggle. Even the most prepared often find that sometimes they need a little bit of support.
Ulverston Breastfeeding Group was formed back in 2011 to make sure that mums get the support with feeding their newborn babies.
The group was set up by mom of two Jo Dawson who runs the group voluntarily with her friend Anne Kibble.
Over the last 5 years the group has grown from strength to strength. Since the groups launch there have been 600 visitors from Moms looking for help, support, advice and friendship. The group also offers a sling library too, so moms get a chance to try before they buy.
Ulverston Breastfeeding group meets every Thursday at Ulverston Library from 9.30am – 11.30am, 52 weeks of the year. It offers continuous support as it still meets during the school holidays.
