We love Christmas, but it’s amazing just how much rubbish you accumulate over the festive break. We eat more, drink more; and if your house is anything like ours, by Boxing Day we’re slowly being buried alive under a mountain of wrapping paper, bin bags, plastic and cardboard.

Over the Christmas period Barrow Borough Council will collect your wheelie bins, but obviously the dates will change slightly to fit around the festivities.

Here is the updated schedule, so you won’t (hopefully) forget to leave your bins out on the right day – you really don’t want to be left with all your Christmas ‘leftovers’ any longer than you have to be!

Bins that are normally collected on Friday December 25 will now be collected on Tuesday December 29. 

Bins that are normally collected on Monday December 28 will now be collected on Wednesday December 30. 

Bins that are normally collected on Tuesday December 29 will now be collected on Thursday December 31. 

Bins that are normally collected on Wednesday December 30 will now be collected on Saturday January 2. 

Bins that are normally collected on Thursday December 31 will now be collected on Sunday January 3. 

Bins that are normally collected on Friday January 1 will now be collected on Monday January 4. 

Bins that are normally collected on Monday January 4 will now be collected on Tuesday January 5.

Bins that are normally collected on Tuesday January 5 will now be collected on Wednesday January 6. 

Bins that are normally collected on Wednesday January 6 will now be collected on Thursday January 7. 

Bins that are normally collected on Thursday January 7 will now be collected on Friday January 8. 

Bins that are normally collected on Friday January 8 will now be collected on Saturday January 9. 

Normal collections will start again from Monday January 11th. 

Millom Bin Collections over the Christmas period

Monday Dec 21st - Thurs 24 – Collection will be as normal.

Friday Dec 25th – no collections (will be collected on Sunday 27).

Sat Dec 26th – no collections.

Sun Dec 27th - collections from December 25th.

Mon Dec 28th-Thurs 31st – as normal.

Fri Jan 1 2016 – no collections (will be collected on Sat Jan 2).
