Barrow Raiders Sponsors Night Smashes All Expectations!

The night was an overwhelming success, far exceeding all expectations.

Supporters pledged £18,500 in sponsorships on the night, obliterating last year’s magnificent total of £17,000. A tremendous achievement, and a total that gives the club the funds they need to really compete this season.

Club Captain Oliver Wilkes attracted the highest total on the night, with a group of people clubbing together and raising £1,500 to sponsor him.  His fellow team mates also attracted between £300 and £800 each which is phenominal.

With only half the games sold (the way the league is structured this season, means that the Raiders don’t know the fixtures yet) the figure will rise again, giving the club another injection of cash later on in the season.

It’s a great boost for the club, and through the generosity of its supporters it can kick off the new season in great shape.

This Friday is Liam Harrisons Testimonial match against Warrington Wolves. Liam celebrates 10 years at the club this season, and the Wolves have promised to bring a strong squad down to Craven Park to help make it a memorable night.

Household names like Ben Westwood, Ashton Sims, Kurt Gidley, Daryl Clark and Chris Hill could all feature. It will be fantastic to see the Raiders put to the test against one of the giants of rugby league, and it’s sure to be a wonderful occasion for Liam Harrison and everyone else too.
