For a fun filled weekend, make sure you bring the family to Barrow Park on the weekend of the 14th & 15th of May.
It’s the 4th annual event to be held at the park, and this year it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. The aim is to beat last year’s fantastic total of £14,400 that was raised for local charities and causes; and there’s lots of ways to do that.
So what’s on over the weekend?
Well, on the show field this year there will be the large funfair, as well as lots of activities starting from 12pm each day.
The Fun Factor 10 Kite Festival and Teddy Bear parachute jump will be taking place up past the Cenotaph. Whilst the main show field will have an array of trade and craft stalls for you to browse and buy from. Large inflatables and activity areas will be situated on the bowling greens. And the kids will be kept entertained by the donkey rides, face painting, tea cup rides, enclosed trampoline harness and bull ride.
On Saturday the bandstand will play host to live entertainment from each of the charities between 2pm and 6pm.
Sunday sees Barrow Park Annual Colour Dash take place. This fantastic 5k run sees participants running (or walking) through colour stations where they will be covered in powdered paint. This year there are 6 stations that have all been sponsored by local businesses. The Colour Dash starts at 11.45am on Sunday (and there’s still time to register – you can pick up a form from Tesco extra Barrow Customer services desk) This year's proceeds will be divided up between five worthy causes: The Birchall Trust, Rainbow House Cumbria, Women's Community Matter, Riding for the Disabled Association Furness Group, and Tesco's charities, the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.
With competitions to win cinema tickets and other fabulous prizes courtesy of Tesco, as well as a whole weekend of fabulous entertainment, this is an event you really don’t want to miss!
See you there!
