The Martlets Hospice in Brighton and Hove, Sussex is a local independent charity, caring for adults with a life limiting disease where a cure is no longer possible.Specialist palliative care is provided for patients. Support is given to families and carers during the patients' illness and into bereavement. The Martlets provides this care thanks to the generosity and continuing financial support of its local community.
I have used these Charity shops and they sell good quality clothing at sensible prices. They seem to get very interesting labels and items donated to them - a cut above the average second hand range.

Brighton Heroes Run is annual family running event raising funds for Pass It On Africa, a charity building schools and funding teachers in Central and East Africa. It will take place on 15th May 2016 on the seafront by Hove Lawns.
Kids say it's "awesome", "brilliant", and "superday good!". Well organised and a fun day for the whole family.

Tackle Africa is a UK and Africa based charity, delivering HIV education through football coaching to young people across Sub-Saharan Africa. Tackle Africa's primary fund-raising event are the Football Marathons held in the summer throughout the South East and various other towns and cities around the UK.
Absolute madness for a great cause. Brilliantly organized. Well done Tackle Africa.

Helen & Douglas House provide hospice care for children and young adults suffering life-shortening conditions. Based at two hospice sites serving Oxfordshire and surrounding counties, they also provide specialist support for the whole family.
