Very nice dining experience. Enthusiastic staff, attentive and pleasant. Sunday roast all good, Yorkshire puds could do with not being flat though. Vegetarian option excellent as was the accompanying veg. Very nice thank you, see you very soon.

Great venue, fab food, facilities good for disabled .
Staff were very good especially Chloe our waitress very knowledgeable and passionate about the menu

I have eaten at the Crown many times usually for Sunday lunch and it has been very good every time. The staff are always friendly and efficient. The restaurant is old world but very comfortable and cosy especially in the winter when the fire is on. It is also dog friendly.
The Crown is tucked by the side of the village green and is not too easily seen but don't give up it is well with seeking out.
You will enjoy it.

Ate there a few times recently. Food good, staff friendly but don't seem that experienced or trained on the detail and the place was cold which made it a tad uncomfortable.
They take dogs which is a plus and on the whole if they turned the heating up we would recommend the place; though overall for good food and a traditional English pub would just about give it 4 out of 5.

We had heard good reports about this pub and restaurant but we were not imprest by the food and price of it,staff were friendly would not return.

Popped in today . Excellent food , nice warm pub , roaring fire 🔥 took the dog in with us . Soup and sandwich 🥪 all food very nice great menu will be back thank you

Just held my mums suprise 70th and the crown and staff couldn’t have been more helpful...all 26 of us had a wonderful evening with fabulous food, great local wines, and amazing staff. All in all a wonderful evening.

Very friendly and also good to go to the Crown. Any day is a Crown day!
Service is good and menu varied. In summer the park at the back is wonderful and backs on to the stream where our boys have caught wild crayfish whilst waiting for lunch or dinner.

Came here with my wife and enjoyed the rustic country charm of this pub. The food was very good and catered for my wife being vegetarian with some of the tastiest food she has had in a while. We both enjoyed squid to start which was cooked to perfection with a red pepper ketchup and I then had pork loin which was delicious and my wife had a Moroccan vegetarian pie.
We will definitely be coming back and it is good quality and good value.

First visit here for a quick lunch after going on a local walk around Hartest, Shimpling and Chadacre. Left the dog in the car as he was too dirty and muddy but understand the pub is dog friendly which is always a bonus.
Welcome was great and staff were really friendly insisting on showing us to a table after our drinks were ordered at the bar.We just went for the soup and a sandwich (£7.50) and these were really tasty and nicely presented (would recommend the toasted cheese and tomato).Service at the table was great and seeing the meals served to the other tables around us made us want to come again to try some more.
As a previous reviewer has commented, the pub is part of the Brewshed chain, but don't let this put you off from what I was told this is a local family business with a small number of other places mainly in Bury St Edmunds and from what I can see they are doing a great job! Plus they have their own microbrewery and the best bitter I tried was good stuff.Lovely big beer garden with tables at the rear of the pub which looks as if it would be great in the summer time too so definitely one for our return to again list.
