The third St Neots Dragon Boat Race & Summer Festival has now been launched!
Over 150 guests attended the gala dinner ceremony at The Priory Centre on Saturday 25th April, hosted by BBC Radio Cambridgeshire presenter Sue Dougan.
During the week 19th August 2015 to 23rd August 2015, the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF see www.idbf.org) will be holding the 12th World Nations Championships for Dragon Boat racing. The event will be held in the Niagara region of Canada and will have participation from across the globe. Racing takes place primarily in 4 categories; Premier racers, Senior racers (over 40 years of age) Under 24s and Junior racers (under 18 years of age). Great Britain will be represented at the World Championships in all categories. The British Dragon Boat Association (BDA) held a training camp for the GB Seniors at the St Neots Dragon Boat Team’s base, St Neots Rowing Club across the weekend of the 18th April. 44 year old St Ives based Gerard Baker, who is a paddler with the St Neots Dragon Boat Team was successful in winning an offer of a place in the final GB Seniors squad to go to Canada.
With less than two weeks to go until the 2015 St Neots Community & Business Awards, plans are progressing at a fast pace – preparing for the gala awards evening on Saturday 25th April at which the winners of 12 award categories will be announced.

THE HILL RISE ALLOTMENT ASSOCIATION ST IVES GARDENING CLUB. This week is National Gardening Week run by the RHS, with lots of lovely gardens open around the country. However are you like me and dont know your dandelion from your daffodil? I really admire gardeners, their passion is quite infectious so if you are one of those happy souls you might be interested to know that our LOCAL GARDENING CLUB is seeking new members.
