Welcome back to this week's update of local news, local business profiles and upcoming events in the region.
Today, I'm excited to welcome, not one but two, prominent Harborough restaurants - SU & SHI (Japanese cuisine in Abbey Street) and VAULT & VINE (Italian cuisine in St Mary's Road) to Thebestof Market Harborough's 'family' of highly recommended independent businesses.
As many of you will know, both restaurants have already established themselves (with good reason) to be amongst the very best in the Harborough region for quality of food, ambience and service as verified by your mountain of glowing reviews, and I'm proud to be working with the owners in the coming months to further promote their offers, events and services to our extended region. And on the subject of Harborough restaurants, a HUGE congratulations once again to AVATAR DINING Indian & Nepalese Restaurant in St Mary's Road, who this week WON the Leicestershire Curry Awards in the RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR (County) catagory. The AVATAR team has consistently been reaching the very highest standards of restaurant service in Leicestershire for the last 10 years proving once again that we are so fortunate to have some of the best independently owned restaurants to choose from right here in Harborough.
Just when you thought the Festivals were bedded down for another year, you must have been forgetting that this FRIDAY 19th & SATURDAY 20th SEPT, the annual LANGTOBERFEST (Beer Festival) is taking place at the Langton Brewery.
It's themed the local 'Oktoberfest', although you won't have to pull on your lederhosen or slip into your dirndl, but if you want to, it probably helps! If you've not been before, you've been missing out because there's something for everyone 'with live music, steins of crisp lager, mouthwatering street food, giant pretzels, and plenty more'. There are even camping facilities if you want to stay for the duration. It all starts on Friday at 3pm and finishes at 10pm on Saturday.
