Thursday 4th September 2025
Hi ,
And welcome to Autumn! Well, we've been asking for rain and we've got it! And now we want the sunshine back! There's no pleasing some people!
It's the first Thursday of the month which means the brilliant
FARMERS MARKET is in town on the Square from 9am - 3pm, offering your opportunity to buy the freshest of produce while supporting our local farmers, so take an umbrella and 'fill your boots'!
So after an eventful summer, some of the popular outside events have gone into hibernation for another year, but there's still plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks.
The world's greatest 5* equestrian event, THE BURGHLEY HORSE TRIALS starts today (Thurs Sept 4th - Sun Sept 7th) in the stunning grounds of Burghley House, near Stamford. Three Day Eventing is a comprehensive test of the all round ability of the horse and rider, comprising Dressage, Cross Country and Jumping, and attracts the finest event horses and riders from around the world. If you are thinking of going (highly recommended), you can get all the details and
ticket information from here. It's your last chance to visit the hugely popular WISTOW MAIZE (this and next weekend only), and weather permitting, the Saddington Car Boot will still take place for a few more Sundays. And then, before you know it, we'll be talking pumpkins, fireworks and pine trees!
So the long awaited new ALDI STORE opens today (Thurs) in Rockingham Road, Market Harborough. The roadworks have conveniently been completed, so hopefully our access time into town should be quicker again.
Look out for
LANGTOBERFEST '25 (Beer Festival) - at the Langton Brewery - Fri 19th and Sat 20th September and the amazing
ARTS FRESCO festival which returns to Market Harborough on Saturday 13 September 2025 to showcase some of the best street theatre performers in the UK.
Look out tomorrow (Friday) on our website for a fascinating new blog post from ANNE of The Fox Inn at Wilbarston, and discover how she has transformed this pub to its former glory.
And finally and on a very sad note, you may have already heard of the recent passing of Robin, the man for many years behind the customer service desk of ROY HUBBARD MOTORS in Market Harborough. Robin had been ill for a while but continued working until the end. He was a much loved and loyal member of the team and will be sadly missed by his family, work colleagues, customers and all who knew him. RIP Robin.
