Local young artists exhibit at Cannizaro House
You may not be aware that Cannizaro House hotel regularly champions the work of local artists by exhibiting and selling paintings and photographs from the walls of the hotel.
Over recent years, this has become quite a regular part of Cannizaro House life as general manager Jeff Ward takes a personal interest in choosing and promoting a variety of artists from those just starting out to more established practitioners.
A fine example is the current crop of paintings from the students of a local art class run by Wimbledon artist Kirsty Chapman. Accompanied by several pieces by Kirsty herself, the exhibition displays over 50 pieces from pupils between the ages of 6 to 17.
It's running for a couple of months so don't forget to have a look next time you're there. Or even make a special trip to view - I can think of worse ways to spend a chilly winter afternoon than perusing local art at Wimbledon's finest boutique hotel.
