The Wimbledon Sporting Project 2012: providing a unique opportunity for local businesses to ignite a sporting passion and widen sport participation.

As London get’s ready to welcome the biggest sporting event in the world, True Volunteer Foundation (TVF) a unique, award winning charity invites you to get involved in the Wimbledon Sporting Project.

TVF is funding this special project to ignite and foster a personal passion for sporting activities in children and young people in Merton Schools. Some 9000+ students in schools across the Borough may take advantage of the free sporting packages provided through this project in the run up to the fun and excitement of 2012. Football, Rugby, Cricket, Hockey, Tennis, Fitness and Athletics will be provided by business sponsorship.

Business sponsors can donate at three levels to be part of this mega event: £500, £250 or £100. In line with TVF’s unique principles, 100 per cent of every pound donated will be used to fund sporting activities for children.

To get children and the community excited about sport and Wimbledon’s rich sporting history, TVF has funded and produced a film, which features many celebrities and sporting stars. This unique film explores the sporting history of Wimbledon from the Victorian era to the present day

Stars include – Jacquie Beltrao, John Scales, Greg Rudeski, Andrew Castle, Eamonn Homes, Lawrie Sanchez, Sean Kerly, Annabel Croft, Victor Ubogu, Will Greenwood , Mark Butcher and many more.

You can view the film trailer HERE

TVF will be inviting all sponsors to the red carpet premiere on Thursday 17th May at the Wimbledon Odeon. Be amongst the first to see the film, and celebrate after at the exclusive VIP after-party.

Ticket invitations will be issued to participating schools, delivery partners, sponsors, VIP’s and celebrities. Free DVDs of the film will be sent to all schools to instil a sense of pride, motivate and inspire long-term engagement in sports as well as enthuse young people to live healthy and active lives.

The Wimbledon Sporting Project is an inspirational opportunity for schools and businesses to engage in the spirit of a mega event, a community interaction around shared passions.
