Recently, in Mid-January 2012 in central London, local Wimbledon business owner Kaz Fernando beat strong competition to be crowned as National Wedding Makeup Artist of the Year at the 2012 Wedding Industry Awards.

At a glitzy ceremony attended by over 300 of the wedding supplier industry’s leading lights at Cafe de Paris in London’s West End, Kaz Fernando Makeup emerged triumphant from a national shortlist of eight finalists to be crowned queen of wedding makeup on stage by Sky News Royal Correspondent Sarah Hewson and organiser Damien Bailey.

Already the regional winner in the London and South East category, Kaz Fernando Makeup was chosen as a result of over fifty brides who took the time to nominate and vote for Kaz by submitting detailed reviews about her work.

On winning her award, Kaz said, “It’s a dream come true! I’m so, so delighted. It really means a lot to have had so many of my brides taking the time to persuade the judges to choose me as winner of this fabulous award.”

“There were hundreds of wedding makeup artists who entered back in the autumn and to actually be named the national winner simply hasn’t sunk in yet! It’s not all about the makeup; it’s about becoming friends with your brides and many of the brides I’ve worked for have stayed friends with me long after the event”

Kaz Fernando Makeup was chosen by the judges as winner because of the high levels of satisfaction shown by her clientele, her calming influence among brides on their big day and her highly professional and contemporary approach to makeup styling and application.

The Wedding Industry awards judging panel included some of the best known wedding specialists in the UK including dress designer Sassi Holford, You and Your Wedding Editor Miranda Esson, leading wedding blogger Annabel Beaforth and internationally acknowledged wedding planner Sarah Heywood.
