The new Phoenix Legacy is being launched for people in Dorset over 50, who want to engage in a better lifestyle of mind, body and spirit.
The Phoenix Legacy aim is to ensure a long term healthier future for the Community, through greater involvement in sport, culture and social encounter; supported by Partnership for Older People, Dorset County Council, and the Primary Care Trust, as part of the Team Dorset 2012 Olympic Legacy.
“We are extending an open invitation to the launch of the Phoenix Legacy event to anyone over 50 in Dorset, to come along for free on Monday 28 September at the Portland Spa. The Event will be opened at 10.30am by the Mayor of Weymouth & Portland, Anna Kenwood and the event will continue until 1pm said Rosie Barfoot, Project Leader. “You will be able to sample the delights of the Portland Spa, and other activities available in the area.”
Activities include : Wall climbing, gym activities in Portland Spa gym and pool, Archery, Painting, Boot Camp circuit training, Dancing , Yoga, Zorbing and an introduction to all the activities available at the Redlands Community Sports Hub. Transport is available from Wyke Lane bus stop to the Portland Spa – free of charge.
