The Big Festival – An Outdoor Festival

Saturday 20th June until Sunday 5th July 2015

Watford Live and Imagine Watford, the town’s biggest arts festivals have come together and have partnered with Watford Colosseum for The Big Festival.

Over the next two weeks there is a packed programme of live performances and art displays, most of which are free.

Butterfly Walk

Saturday 20th June 2015, 1pm to 3pm

Join a guided walk around Leavesden Country Park looking for butterflies. Suitable for all the family, this is a free event but you must pre-book, please call 01923 776611


Croxley Revels on The Green

Saturday 20th June 2015, 1:30pm until 5:00pm

The popular, Croxley Revels on the Green a traditional summer village fayre is taking place this Saturday. Suitable for all the family, there will be a children’s funfair, nearly 100 stalls and a variety of entertainment and performances from local theatre, dance, arts, and sports groups.

Chorleywood Car Boot Sale

Sunday 21st June 2015, 9:00am until 2:00pm

One of the largest car boot sales locally, held in Meadows Farm, A404, Amersham Road, Chenies, Chorleywood, Rickmansworth. WD3 5QP. This popular car boot has a large car park and toilets. Free for children to attend. Adults are £1 (before 9am) and 50p (after 9am). For more information on seller pitches.

Oxhey Open Gardens 

Sunday 21st June 2015, 2:30pm until 6:30pm

Oxhey Open Gardens is an annual event, showcasing 22 creative, inspiring gardens in and around Oxhey Village, to enthusiastic gardeners and visitors.

There will be plants, pots, jewellery cards for sale and a tea stop with delicious home-made cakes. There are two start points, 55 Oxhey Avenue and 48 Villiers Road, where you will receive an information guide and a map.

It’s £5 each for adults (children are free).  Over the years the event has raised more than £18,000 for The Peace Hospice in Watford, now known as Peace Hospice Care.

Due to the layout and location of many of our gardens, this event is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Beat the Street

Wednesday 3 June to Wednesday 15 July 2015

A walking or cycling challenge suitable for all the family, individuals, groups or teams.  Beat the Street is a fun and simple way to get outside in the sunshine and get moving.  Earn points and win prizes by tapping special cards (like Oyster Cards) onto sensors known as Beat Boxes that are placed on lamp posts around the town.
