My Husband and I had a day out recently at Walsall Arboretum and although the weather wasn't altogether fine we had a lovely day. We actually went for the open air concert by The Black Country Beatles which we really enjoyed. They performed in the Bandstand and we were able to sit on the stone steps in front of it. There is a large play park with toilet facilities and lots of space for cycling or scooters and skateboards or just run around. The cafe and visitor centre seemed relatively new which served hot drinks and snacks.

I have been going to the arboretum since I was a kid,not changed that much.the kids area is ok but can get quite full on sunny days and bank holidays.not much for adults to do there are boats you can hire but that's about it.i do miss the lights they used to have which rivalled Blackpool ,but to me it's just one big park for the kids to play.

Clean park with few things to do for kids
Would not recommend going there later on in the evening. Still miss the illuminations

An amazingly asset to Walsall. This park was formed in Victorian times for people to walk in and relax. It has many Victorian building dotted around the park. A bandstand, a son's of rest building and many statues depicting aspects of the park. The newly installed splash pool is amazing. My grandchildren love it. There are many other things to play on too. Play tennis, bowls or just cycle around the vast area with a Cafe for you to enjoy a cuppa. Come and see for yourself. Highly recommended.

This is a great place to visit. The arboretum is picturesque whatever the season. Fab for kids bike riding as paths are well kept and wide. There is a large paly area, with a water play part. There is a bowling green, tennis courts and lovely hidden away pathways to explore. Definitely recommend for value for money family day out. Parking is free at the large onsite car park. Café is located by the lake.

Located just outside the Town Centre the Arboretum is a beautiful park with a lake and kids play area. There’s food and drink available during summer months and a lovely place to just relax and chill for a few hours.

This used to be an absolutely brilliant place to go I still remember hiring a boat back when you could go on the lake, the Arboretum Lights were famous in the Midlands now we have lost all that due to budget cuts and its just a plain park, nice for a walk but shame its lost so much character.

Haven't been for number of years used to play Tennis there and work across the road at Crabtree's.
The park is looking lovely and the visitors centre a wonderful addition.
The lake with swan boats looks great.
We went to see a group "The Black Country Boys" in the bandstand we were there in good time but sadly all the group did is set up there instruments before the one member went home 5 mins before they were to start. After an almost an hour he was seen driving back into the park, sadly we had decided to leave by then. I hope the Council didn't pay there full fee!
Great family park.

A great place to spend the day with family. Splash pad is great fun. We finished the day off with a ride on the swans. Thank you to Sarah and George the boating staff who were fantastic sorting out our dysfunctional family and ensuring we had a great time, they made our day.

The splash pad is a really lovely day out with the children that does not cost very much at all. Obviously it can get extremely busy in the summer holidays but my children absolutely loved it. There are toilet facilities but not many considering the amount of people that go there. The play area is amazing for the children too. A lovely day out on a sunny day! The gardens are beautiful as always.

I love taking my toddler to the Arboretum. The picturesque design, café and children's play area are all gorgeous and well maintained. I always feel safe and I never feel in a hurry to leave. Everyone should visit, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Visited with a new born, 5yr old and 9yr old. Was a very hot day, summer holiday. So we thought it might have been packed but it wasnt too bad. There is a playground area, an area where you can feed the ducks, geese. Lots of grassy areas for picnics, ballgames, can hire pedalos on the lake, but the bit the children liked best was the splash pad. It was lots of fun. We took a picnic blanket, so I sat on the floor right by the splash pad so I could watch the children. Such a fun way to cool down on a hot day. They took their swimming suits. There are toilets but no changing facilities, so they did it with their towels round them. There is a first aid hub with someone in it, which was good, and a restaurant round the corner. It is free to get into, on a week day the splash pad is open 11 until 5. There were icecream vans by the splash bit and a woman selling those balloons with rice inside. Lovely park, will definitely visit again.

I’ve been going here since I can remember. From the illuminations to bands on the bandstand. It’s a beautiful place to spend an afternoon be it walking, running, feeding the ducks or having a picnic. The cafe is a good addition in recent years although we have been overcharged in the past (tried to charge us £9 for beans on toast!) so we stopped going. The events on the extension and the bandstand are well organised and cater for a wide range of tastes.
One of my favourite places to go!

There are three parts to this park, the general park with duck pond, children's play area and large nature reserve that offers excellent walks with your dog. Well worth a visit

This park has maintained its beauty from my childhood. Safety has also improved with soft padding in the play area. Plenty of greenery to walk around.
