Wondering what to do of a weekend? Why not take a stroll around the beautiful surroundings of the Walsall Arboretum. There's a large park area for the children; in the summer months they switch on the water for the wet splash area. There's a recently constructed visitor centre serving hot drinks and snacks etc. There is tennis courts and a really enjoyable walker's path around the large pool with an array of wonderful wildlife. The best of all it's FOC. Hope you enjoy!

Haven't been to the Arboretum for over 40 years, not since my Mom & Dad used to take me and my brothers to the illuminations.

In short, it surprised me. The new visitor centre looks good, but seems basic and it seemed to take a long time to order 2 coffees on a quiet day.

The actual Arboretum was starting to bloom and the trees were full of leaves of all colours. The walk round the lake was pleasant with duck feeding areas and walkways and the bandstand and boathouse were interesting.
Well worth a visit on a summer's day. #FamilyFriendly

The arboretum since its upgrade is a must for families or people of all ages from the walk around the lake to the play area for children. You could always just visit to feed the birds or attend Park Run every Saturday at 9am involving people of all standards from walkers to club runners (if that doesnt suit you could always sit in the cafe for breakfast and watch them!!).

I love Walsall arboretum
I have been going there since I was a young girl.my family used to walk there from Bloxwich and we'd spend the whole day picnicking and playing in the lido and on the park.
It's changed lots over the years but is still a lovely place to spend a day out with the family.
I've taken my own children, nieces and nephews there over the years and they all visit now with their growing families too.

Nice place in the summer for a relaxing couple of hours. Extensive walkways etc around a large lake, beautiful greenery and flower beds etc.

A beautiful park, many areas unchanged for decades. Trees are wonderful in all seasons. As they change through the year you really get the feeling of nature and how it responds to the climate. A real pity that the autumn illuminations are no longer provided - they were magical. For us walking in the park is spoiled by people who let their dogs charge around off lead. This results inevitably in uncollected dog poo, on paths as well as in grassy areas, and the odd confrontation between dogs. To keep everyone happy it would be a good idea if people walked their dogs off lead in the extension but kept dogs on lead in the formal area of the park (gardens and lake).

Nice walk in the early morning crisp cold day many other folk around.
The facility is well looked after and a pleasure to walk in a credit to the people who look after it and use it. Met up with old friends doing the same.
