Quiet, really good food. Sometimes closes early, so hit and miss on how much time you have.

Booked in 9 of us for 92nd Birthday Sunday lunch. From start to finish the staff were excellent & ultra helpful.
We ordered various meals, some from the set Sunday menu others from the general menu but the chef produced all meals together and everyone was perfect; with plenty of vegetables etc to go around.
The meals were great value and we'll be going the again. Great place.

Your average pub, decent food and drink, enhanced by it's location adjacent to the canal and Pelsall common

We went to the pub twice over the Pelsall IWA festival of water weekend in August. The food was inexpensive and top quality, obviously being hand made and freshly prepared. The quantity was also great. The drinks weren't the cheapest around but by no means the most expensive!
The staff were very busy but handled the numbers of people well and were friendly and helpful - they fitted in our group of 12 with no notice. They had a great sense of humour and enjoyed a giggle at one of our number's expense - the hot chicken wings are very hot!!
Highly recommended and we'll be back for our next family members birthday!

Visited today for a quick tea. Once again The Fingerpost did not disapoint. We enjoyed a lovely chilli con carne and all day breakfast with a side of onion rings and garlic bread. All lovely and fresh and cooked to perfection. Reece is a great chef and we can't wait to return Cheers :-)

Visited The Fingerpost, this Bank Holiday Monday whilst at Canal Festival, it was great to see so many people using the pub at last, not so great having to pay £7.50 for 1/2 pint lager and two 1/2s of lager shandy...... I'm all for people making a living, but £2.50 for 1/2 lager served in a plastic cup!! Shame really because the pub is in a fantastic location, the food is good and the people really friendly.

Called in on a really busy evening after a day on the canal during a weeks canal holiday. We had two dogs with us. We arrived 30 minutes before last food orders. The staff must have been tired out but you wouldn't have known. They were very friendly. They said the food might take 45 mins but it came more quickly. It was basic pub food but well cooked and presented. It was a very warm night so we sat outside on a terrace and it was very pleasant as was the price - four of us ate well with one round of drinks for £35. It worked well for what it is.

Oh my! Finally a menu to suit the pub! We come here quite often but Came in a few weeks a go and after the terrible slop we were served said we wouldn't be back. However we came in for a Drink last night and decided to have a look at the new menu which i must say is long overdue. There seems to be a couple of new faces about aswel, the chef (thankfully not the same one as last time) and the two girls on the bar who were lovely. Firstly the size of the menu is a welcome improvement, plenty of choice! We went for chicken burgers. It is described as a whole chicken breast, more like a whole chicken! Beautiful crispy coating, lovely chips and finished off with coleslaw and some kind of dipping sauce (amazing).
There's a different feel around this pub now, it seemed busier last night, with a good atmosphere. In the past the place has been really quiet. Let's hope that they can keep this going!

This pub is right next to the Wyrley and Essington Canal at Pelsall Junction and adjoins Pelsall North Common. They accommodated a business meeting for me in a fairly private area off the main bar and couldn't have been more helpful. The sandwiches and coffee were pretty good too!

We have struggled for a number of years to find good food in Pelsall. Well this all changed last night we had an excellent meal here which wasn't just pub grub but the food and service were of restaurant standard. The meal wasn't rushed it was served at a nice leisurely pace allowing you to enjoy the evening and take in the lovely atmosphere.
Thank you Matt for bringing good food to Pelsall. Another great bonus for us is that dogs are allowed in the bar and decking areas.
We will be back!
