If you want a gearbox then this is a must read!! Contacted Claire & gary about my noisy box, spoke on phone very helpful and drove from oxford to see gary where upon he stripped the box down in front of me showing and telling me in detail what was wrong, left it with him and collected the next week, upon fitting it i thought i had messed the gears up as mine are prone to it, called gary again helpfull on the phone, but the next bit will blow your mind.... He drove from his to oxford on a SUNDAY morning!!! - 6 temp and checked the box out with me. Ended up being the gear cables so not the box! If it wouldve been the box my fault or his, he was willing to take it out with me and take back and fix, There is very few people in this world nowadays that would do half the above they just want your money! Dont go anywhere else even if they are cheaper its not worth it, it will cost you more in the long run. GENUINE HONEST RELIABLE COUPLE RUNNING A FAMILY BUSSINESS thank you and best of luck in the future 👍

Gear box failed on my transporter t5 phoned Gary he was super helpful and a wealth of knowledge he had a replacement gear box on the shelf ready to go once paid he sent it out and arrived with me 2 days later gear box looked brand new not just spray painted as many company’s do once fitted to my van and now runs like a dream I then took my gear box back in person Gary stripped it down whilst I was there showed me what he looks for and to make sure it was repairable which it was. I can’t recommend Gary and Claire enough such a great product and even better customer service

Absolutely brilliant service from these guys. Gary showed me all parts of his workshop, explained the process thoroughly. Communication was impeccable. After my gearbox died on my vivaro I didn’t know where to go. I’m glad I found get-gear as Gary has the knowledge and experience. I wouldn’t use anybody else if I had another problem in the future. Gary and Claire were so helpful and so honest. I put a post up in a Vw T5 forum about my gear box and they gave me so much free advice knowing at that point I wasn't looking for a refurbished gear box. Eventually I went for a refurbished gear box as I couldn't find a second hand one and I was delighted to get one from them since they helped me out so much. The gear box was first class and I couldn't recommend them enough. 5 out of 5 stars! Thanks again!

When my gearbox went on my van I spent a whole evening searching for the best place to sources reconditioned one… that lead me to Gary.

Helped me out no end , had a small broken selector bracket broken on a t5 gearbox which meant that the g/box was stuck in 5 th gear, not only did he supply the part ( £200 to include many other parts, not needed) but posted it free of charge

Service in everyway is absolutely faultless and exeptional. Honest reliable and a real pleasure to talk to and deal with. I had a remanufactured VW T5 gearbox and my van drives like a new van. I recently had a remanufactured gearbox from Gary for my T5.
I drive a 2021 T6.1 for work. Since I’ve had this gearbox fitted, by my local garage, Ashby MOT, Bagworth, it has totally transformed my camper. It’s a tight and smooth as my 2021 work van. Had the 5th gear upgrade too. Makes a big difference. Not just a necessary repair, it has totally transformed the driving experience.
This guy is friendly and really knows his stuff when it comes to VW gearboxes. I can’t recommend this place enough 🥇

So we have used most midland gearbox ‘specialists’ over the years. Now I’ve used get gears it’s safe to say I’ll go nowhere else. The wealth of knowledge and explanation of procedures received here is on another level.
Add to that the pricing and league times that boxes can get turned around in and we at Tamworth Transporters will be going nowhere else!
