Wellington Cricket Club’s firework display on Saturday 7 November 7th was a fantastic success.
The event attended by just under 4,000 people was almost certainly the best and most successful firework event held by the club over the last 25 years. Those who attended were entertained by a fantastic firework display from 7.30 onwards, a children’s funfair, food and drink stalls.
Entry fees to the event were maintained at realistic prices, this in part due to sponsorship of the event by SP Holding, Single Source and Prestige Print.
One of the attendees, Graham Sturock commented “Having travelled from Whitchurch this year to attended Wellington Cricket Club’s firework display on Saturday my family reckon it was one of the best we have seen in Shropshire for a long while, we had a fantastic night. Both the children’s funfair and fireworks were a big hit, we will definitely be attending again next year. My daughter thought the final firework of the night was awesome”. .
Co-event sponsor Tracey Holding commented “It is really satisfying to be involved in supporting this event which provides real family fun and entertainment” Club spokesman Ian Tyrer reported “We believe that the crowd numbers are probably the highest we have ever seen for this event, the evening is designed for all the family and provides key financial support to the club’s youth section, whilst allowing us to also support local charities. The club are very appreciative of the support received from the event sponsors and the help on the night from Wellington Air Force Cadets 1130 Squadron. This year we have been able to support The Wellington Mayor’s charity, Help for Heroes and Telford Lions”.
