It's time to celebrate Shropshire!
And why? Well, because it's National Beer Day, of course.
Telford and the surrounding region will celebrate Britain's national alcoholic drink on Thursday, June 15, by clinking together bottles of beer in establishments across the area.
With election fever now over, and our British fate is sealed, there is no better time to enjoy the taste of the sweet, amber nectar.
Beer Day Britain is annually on June 15th; that is also the date Magna Carta was sealed in 1215. Article 35 of the great charter stated:
Let there be throughout our kingdom a single measure for wine and a single measure for ale and a single measure for corn, namely the London quarter.
Ale was so important in England in 1215 that it was mentioned in one of the most significant legal documents in history! Today beer and pubs are still central to British life.
Luckily for you, we're on hand with our ultimate guide of where's great in Telford to sink a pint (or two).
