Ironbridge is now clear of Electrical Works and flood barriers
17th December 2009

After several months of work the essential electrical works were completed on the 17th December 2009.

The works will mean homes and businesses along The Wharfage and Tontine Hill will have a more secure and safe supply.

Residents and businesses have coped with the disruption for most of 2009.  Businesses and residents welcome the new supply and are now looking forward to life getting back to normal.

Ironbridge is free of  flood barriers, traffic lights and crash barriers and the businesses are all trading as normal leading up to Christmas and the new year.

The new Christmas lights display can now be been seen in its full glory.

The Gorge Parish Council worked hard with its partners the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, Traders, Telford and Wrekin Council and Ironbridge and Severn Gorge Lions to improve the display.

Grants from the Borough Towns Initiative have meant £30,000 has been spent to improve the Christmas display for the next few years.

The display has made Ironbridge a great place to visit the lights and decorations look great in daylight and in the dark.

Take a trip down the Wharfage in Ironbridge, enjoy the lights and sample some of the great hospitality and the warm welcome Ironbridge offers.

Great pubs, great restaurants and great history.
